Unfortunately giving 0 stars is not an option. It took over 2 months, getting the city involved, and legal consultation for these people to perform apartment repairs which SHOULD have been addressed prior to move in. Just for context, these repairs consisted of tiles coming out of the floor, an unsealed sump pump in a space advertised as a bedroom, unsecured doors and windows posing risk for break-ins, and improper ventilation. Despite the apartment failing the rental inspection deemed by the city, we were not given accommodation while these vital repairs occurred. And then the cherry on top was that out of our security deposit, they were initially only going to give us back a few CENTS before we caught their error and demanded proper reimbursement. Needless to say, avoid BREC if you can for your sanity.
BREC is a horrible realty company. I highly recommend using anyone else. They are extremely mismanaged and just want your money. Their lease language is predatory and outdated. They take advantage of young, naive renters (mostly students). Please look else where for your housing needs.
Ive been living in an apartment on Comm Ave for 5 years now and get super quick responses from BREC. When the coin slot for the washing machine fills up, they empty it within 24 hours and weve had thorough communication about heat and water. Theyve sent plumbers, electricians, etc over quickly, replaced our oven, and even paid for a dish washer in our unit without raising the rent this past year. Im satisfied and appreciative of their efforts!
BREC is a great company with luxury apartments and townhouses available in the South End and other neighborhoods in Boston. Their units are of much better quality than an average rental in Boston. They work with talented developers who renovate properties with luxury interior finishes while preserving the exterior of historic buildings. Other units are brand new construction. Their property management division is responsive and professional. I highly recommend them and their office is local in the South End.
See how they have managed the property on 1065 Tremont Street: - No hot water - No heat - In-building electricity has not yet installed since move-in - Ongoing stolen packages - Ripped packages (see photos) - Laundry costs $ 7 - 8 dollars per time - Emergent move-out because of lighting insufficiency Save your energy and avoid this management.
