Bought an MX5 unseen off the website. The saleman did a video review which was difficult to see much but he assured me the car was in great condition for the age. I had the car delivered to my home 80 miles away. My observations are that whilst the transaction was very simple, I was dissapointed somewhat by the condition. All 4 alloys were very marked and I would have insisted they were refurbed if I had called to buy. The car tyres were dressed with some sort of heavy grease which gets everywhere and is difficult to remove from trousers and shoes and hands. The petrol tank was virtually empty which seemed a bit mean. I was sold the superguard at 149 and in the email, the preparation included mechanical polishing and cleaning with a clay bar which seemd great value but when I inspected, the car did not appear to have been mechnaically polished because there was white paint on a blue bumper which came off with a bit of T cut. They did to be fair, provide 50ml or so of paint to touch up bits on the car but this needed doing before Superguard was applied. I have since spent a few hours cleaning and painting the wheels and spoting the paint to cover up stone chips and its looking a lot better. Overall, I think that a 3 star rating is fair.

Good afternoon Mr Woodhouse, all modern electronic handbrakes disengage when the clutch and accelerator are engaged, the car will hold for a few seconds before you can pull off. This is called hill start control. Took a car out on a test drive and found the electronic hand break would only hold for a couple of seconds at a junction on a hill. Told the salesman about it and his response was that it was only supposed to hold for a couple of seconds. I wouldn't feel confident buying a car here.
