I hired mountain skills to help teach multi-pitch trad skills. Kyle was my guide and he was superb. He was honest and encouraging about my climbing level. He never pushed me to do anything but encouraged me to feel ready to tackle several multi pitch read leads. Kyle was personable and easy to get along with for the full day we spent together. Couldnt have been more pleased with the experience. Between the choice in climbs, and the techniques he taught, it was money well spent. Lot of good tips on gear management and space-saving racking tips. Would definitely hire again.

I had an amazing experience with mountain skills from the time I registered to the time I was back at the shop after climbing it was a top notch experience. Kyle, my guide was wonderful. I felt safe the entire time and this really allowed me to enjoy my first climbing experience in the gunks. Doug was great with the registration and providing information about the day. I'd recommend these guys to anyone!!

EJ is an awesome guide and really made my partner and I feel so comfortable and showed us such a good time out there. super knowledgeable as well and taught us so much. we know we will want to go out with a guide at least once more before we start trad climbing on our own and will def go through mountainskills again!!!

Highly recommend. Doug (proprietor) runs a professional, friendly, fun group of guides. Took a trad course taught by Matt Murphy. Matts a super-conscientious, intentional, and skilled teacher. He knows his stuff, clearly loves the gunks and climbing, and is a great guy!
