I cant say anything about the quality of work this contractor performs, but I want to comment on the communication style. I have been trying to reach somebody by phone, through the website, and email for a couple of weeks to get a price for an extensive renovation project. They dont pick up or respond to messages or return calls. It seems that the demand exceeds the service capability, or they are just not interested in new businesseither way, not a good experience.

On time. On budget. ON POINT! I interviewed three different contractors for my renovation and chose Castlewood for their portfolio of high quality work at reasonable prices. This was a collaboration from start to finish with expert guidance from Todd on not only what we should update, but also what was not worth changing. Sandra was my design wing woman, guiding me through every selection to ensure a cohesive design throughout the house. Her impeccable eye for detail helped us make some bold choices on color with confidence. Bill, the super, brought discipline to the project and managed the trades to get in and out and finish on time. The end result is a beautifully renovated home that we will cherish for years to come. With transparency in pricing and clear budgets for the various selections and finishes, I was able to manage the budget and choose when to go over or under, add or subtract, ultimately coming in right on target. The entire renovation took 8 weeks from start to finish which is unheard of for a whole house renovation, let alone during COVID-19. I would highly recommend Castlewood for any new home or whole home renovation. You will be in good hands.

Choosing Castlewood Builders was the best decision! We had interviewed several builders, and the quality of the recommendations we received about Castlewood clearly made them our choice. When you hear so many horror stories about builders after the contract is signed, you are nervous about what might happen. But it was all sensationally positive with Castlewood. They are very organized, and help keep you on track with your selections so you can keep your project on time. They can offer you tremendous advice so that your home is customized to your taste, but respectful of your budget. Because they build so many homes in the area, they have outstanding relationships with suppliers so you are confident you will be receiving high quality products with a minimum of your time. Best of all, they have their own employees who know the quality of work that is required and deliver consistently. We had complete confidence in our superintendent, who made sure we were satisfied as well as making sure the house was built correctly. And he made it so enjoyable as well! There were no surprise costs along the way. Everything was spelled out ahead of time, and when changes were made (by us), the costs were approved before that work began. We knew exactly where we stood every step of the way. And they helped us save money on certain items by suggesting websites/vendors that we could use. Without a moment's hesitation,we would choose them again. They were fun to work with, they provided outstanding quality, and the finished our home earlier than promised, and on budget. What more could you ask for?

Castlewood was great to work with. They told us we'd move in 6 months after starting demolition and we moved in at 5 months 28 days. As overwhelming as building a house is, they made it feel much less so. We felt there were ample allowances and lots of choices and Andrea kept us sane along the way. Our project manager, Jim, was phenomenal!!! He was a great communicator and problem solver. I'm sure all of their project managers are great, but ask for Jim if you can. To this day, if someone asks, I recommend Castlewood if you are building a house.

We knew that selecting Castlewood Builders to design and build our home was a safe bet given that they dominate the new homes construction in the Bethesda area. What we did not know and realize was the level of satisfaction we would experience every step of the way. From working with the architect to selecting options to getting regular updates from our site supervisor, Castlewood Builders ensured that our needs were met within our predetermined budget. They are truly experts in what they do with a keen awareness of craftsman home trends and they make sure that they have the best quality building products to support those trends. It is for those reasons we find immense comfort in knowing that our home is well-built with attention to all the meticulous details that make our home spectacular. We got to work with prearranged vendors who were knowledgeable, flexible, and friendly and had access to an ongoing builder trend calendar, so we were fully aware of the different stages of the construction project. Best of all, my daughters and I could stop by the Castlewood office any time and get suggestions and advice even if it meant looking at paint colors for the second and third time! Upon moving in and finding a Welcome Home bouquet of flowers on the island with a note that read, Wishing you happiness, pleasure, and wonderful memories, we were once again convinced that we made the right choice going with Castlewood Builders.
