Mr. Long, I wonder if you actually visited our office? We have a door chime for both the front and back door and pride ourselves in greeting whoever walks in. We also have cameras in the front area and upon reviewing recent footage, I dont see anyone browsing frames for this long unattended. We also observed your review of Ghent Eyecare, a neighbor optometrist, and giving them the same review. We will jump faster at the sound of the chime but I find your observation disconcerting. The office seem to operate off of memory, instead of their records. They told me multiple times that they didn't have my glasses frames in their office, only after insisting the frames were at there store, did they take the time to look for them and find them. This was just one of many instances where their lack of communication within the office caused stress on me. I like the doctor, but I think the office is still figuring things out.
I am so sorry to read you feel this way. Multiple, multiple, multiple free trials have been dispensed over the years. Free trials are dispensed to us based on the purchases made by the office. Also be aware that free trials cost shipping every time they are ordered so nothing is really free. Vendors/ manufacturers are become wiser on how free trials are used as it is costing them sales as well. This has nothing to do with race or financial status of any patients. I wasnt aware a return call from me personally was requested or I would have done so after I was done in clinic for the day. I am aware who you spoke with and I am beyond shocked to read she was rude and unprofessional. I will review the situation with her today. Dr. Corey was indeed very caring with everyone. And I can say with absolute certainty, so are we. I am sorry you didnt get the outcome you were seeking. I wish you the best and sincerely hope you can find a provider that can meet your needs. It saddens me that after doing business with "Ghent Optometry" for over 10 years that I am forced to part way due to lack of patience, customer service, and In my opinion, discrimination. I have NEVER been treated so poorly or looked down on because of what I decided to purchase for MY well being. You CANNOT force a customer to buy a year supply of Contacts when you offer the option of a 6 month supply as well. Especially for a customer who alternates between eye glasses and contacts. Yesterday I called The office to inquire about a temporary trial due to my wallet being stolen and all of my funds were placed on hold. I was told that the Dr. Would personally give me a call back and that it should be no problem. About an hour later I received a call from the receptionist stating that if I wasn't going to purchase a year supply of contacts in the future they were unable to assist me. I stated to the young lady that a year supply would be too much for me being that I wore glasses as well and that I've purchased a 6month supply before. She rudely responded "well that's is what Dr Cassie is requesting and we're all out of the trials." Which she told me that she had the trials a few seconds prior to speaking with Dr. Cassie. In my honest opinion customer service was very rude and unprofessional. I've been dealing with the business for over 10 years and I have NEVER been treated the way that I was treated yesterday. Dr. Corey truly cared about all of his patient no matter their race or financial situation. I regret to inform you that Ghent Optometry has lost any future business with myself and family.
