Dear Mr. Hebert, We are sorry that you feel this way about your most recent visit. In a state of Georgia all the prescriptions for the contact lenses need to be re-evaluated/updated every 12 months from the last service date. You vision insurance plan has listed $55.00 as a copay for the contact lens evaluation procedure. This copay is to be collected from the patient regardless of the location or the provider performing the service. When pricing out the services/materials we went strictly by the insurance plan that you provided us with prior to the appointment. If you have any other vision plan with lower copays, we will gladly reverse the previous claim and resubmit the services to another plan. Best regards, Druid Hills Eye Care

Reasonable service but charged $55 for a contacts sample and fitting when all I did was pop in something I thought was a free trial with nothing but a glance from the doctor. Previously pressured into making purchases from the in-house glasses and contacts. Will not be returning.
Dear Ms.Strischek, We are sorry to hear that our prices didn't meet your expectations. At the time of your appointment we went strictly by the vision plan benefits provided by your insurance, and charged $10 copay for the eye exam and $16.50 for the contact lens evaluation (the copays were confirmed with the insurance representative over the phone). We always discuss the prices for additional services (like contact lens fitting, diagnostic testing) ahead of the services being performed and do not proceed without the patient consent. We notify all of our patients about the upcoming charges so that they have a choice either to proceed with the services in the office or select the facility or retailer according to the budget.

By far the most expensive eye Dr I have ever been to. Absolutely outrageous prices. Edit 2/15: A. Your response is inaccurate and misleading. B. Isn't posting billing information about a patient on Google a HIPAA violation?
Thank you very much for the feedback! We look forward to serving you in the future.

I broke my glasses during midterms and couldnt see my first exam! Druid Hills Eye Care got me in quickly (despite being a new patient!) and were able to get me fitted in a new pair on the same day as my exam! Juliana was so great at helping me pick a cute pair of frames, and Sean got them adjusted beautifully!
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for your unpleasant experience. Although it is not standard for the Optometrists to include PD measurement on eyeglass prescriptions, our opticians do so for anyone upon request without charging fees as most places do. We intend for our patients to have the best possible vision experience - regardless of where the glasses are purchased. We have never denied anyone a PD measurement and apologize that we were unaware you needed one. Please stop by and we will be more than happy to provide you with a PD measurement.

I paid $169.00 for an eye exam that did not include my PD (pupillary distance). I am unable to buy glasses online without this information. This is a very unethical practice. They intend for you to buy glasses from them or not at all. They are legally obligated to provide your prescription to you after the exam, but are willfully ignoring the spirit of the law by not providing your PD.
