Sorry to hear that you felt you were taken advantage of during your visit. Some of your statements seemed rather odd. First you received an 11.5 not an 11 because in that shoe, that is the correct size for you. We always check the size in addition to asking how they feel on your feet. If there is any problem you should have come back and we would be more than happy to answer any concerns. Secondly, we don't slip arch supports in your shoes without permission. The only reason we suggest arch supports is if the customer is complaning about needing more support. If they were uncomfortable or didn't feel right, again , you should have come back to see if they can be adjusted. In regard to your sock and shoe box packaging, the only reason we take the packaging off of the socks is if the customer is putting on the sock. We also ask the customer if they want the shoe box, not because there is a conspiracy to keep you from the packaging. The reason we ask is because over 50% off the customers tell us to throw it out, they don't want it. If there is any chance the customer was not going to like the shoe or had any reservations about their purchase, we always give the box in case they have to return the item. I'm sorry you felt you were somehow mistreated but you were not. We've been in business for nearly 40 years and have thousands of customers who disagree with your review. Thank You.

I listed to my wife to go in to Best Made Shoes and let the man fit me. He sold me shoes that were 11.5 I wear 11. Then without asking my permission he slipped in arch supports and started shaving them to fit me. At the cash register the arch supports added $80.00 to cost of my shoes. I suspect he persuaded me to buy 11.5 because that is a harder shoe size to sell. The arch supports at $80.00 are the new shoe store rip off. I never used them one time. We also purchased socks. He removed the out sock packaging and tried to convince me not to take the shoe box. After I left I realized why. He does not want you to cross reference what you just bought on the internet and purchase them elsewhere or cheaper. He is very good at manipulating and making you feel comfortable. He is a very deceptive person. And yes I checked he was the owner of the store. When you go to these independent shoe stores you think you are going to get some good service, all I got was ripped off. Every time I use those shoes to cut grass I think of this jerk and finally decided to write this review. Did you shop there? Did he remove all the outer packaging from your purchase? I bet he did. . . Addition OK someone might believe that BS story of why you wanted to take the box the new shoes came in. Please tell us why you removed all the packaging my new socks came in. Are you saving us from some gummed up plastic wrapping. We bought multiple pairs of socks and you removed all the wrapping on those putting multiple loose socks in my bag. What store does that. I mailing those worthless $80.00 shoe inserts back to you. I suspect you someone thumbed that shoe measuring device to make my foot 11.5 inches when you measured it. My shoes size is 11. Those 11.5 are hard to sell and you pushed them off on me.
We said we did nothing to your shoes because that is the truth. We have been in business for 43 years and repaired thousands of Birkenstocks. It makes no sense that we would damage your shoes. That is crazy, rude and not true at all. Yesterday a man and his son brought in a pair of Birkenstock sandals to repair. He was very nice and wondered what the cost of the repair would be on the sandals. He told us his wife got these sandals at costco and didnt pay much for the sandals. They were in bad shape and they wondered if it would be worth it to fix. When we told the husband the cost he said it wouldnt be worth the cost to fix them. He said the wife would probably be in soon to buy a new pair. Everyone was friendly and we didnt think anything was wrong. Later that day we get a strange email from his wife saying we sliced open her sole and separated the cork from the sole. We didnt know what she was talking about. I explained to her in two emails that nothing was done to her shoes. It doesnt even make sense. Why would we separate her soles? We only looked at them and gave an estimate of the work as we always do. Her husband was in for a couple of minutes and left with the sandals and nothing happened. We feel bad that the woman is so upset, but we didnt do anything to her sandals.

These people are liars and they are rude. My shoes were brought in to see how much they would be to replace the cork and soles. They were not in the best condition but they were still wearable and the sole was attached to the cork, which was not the case when I got them back. As I was not at the store, my husband texted me the repair price, we decided it wasnt worth the cost to repair. The shoes were brought back to me and the sole and cork were no longer attached. I was just wearing them before they were taken to the store so I know what state they were in. When I contacted the store they were just rude and said they did nothing to my shoes. Also, apologies go a long way, instead of trying to be so defensive. Again, I know the condition of my shoes when they left the house and when they got back to the house.
This place is a miracle! I simply had no idea that there were stores like this, with such knowledgable staff willing to spend enormous amounts of time problem solving and customizing shoes for complicated, specific foot issues. There is also a surprising range of stylish options. I have spent countless hours and dollars trying to find suitable shoes at various shoe stores, online, etc., only to be frustrated and still in pain. I will not be doing that again: I've definitely found the store where I will purchase all future footwear! Many thanks, Best-Made!
I've been searching for years for the perfect pair of quality but comfortable heels to wear in a professional setting. I found them today at Best-Made Shoes. I will definitely be going back for more and I highly recommend this company. Great product and outstanding customer service. Thank you, Marc, for the personal attention today!
Why is it that every cobbler feels it's necessary to wax up my shoes? Even when i ask them NOT to do it, they glaze up the leather like some krispy creams. They also replaced my heels which is good and fine because it's what i asked them to do. Except, I guess they thought it would be cool to swap the old brown heels for some black ones. They also painted the wood and tunite/leather soles black to match. What? Thanks for painting my shoes a new color. Skip this place.
