Poor customer service. Staff does not answer the phone for reservations. When you walk in they say their all booked despite having 5-10 open tables. The speakeasy is poorly designed and the decorations are kitchy.
Walked in through a normal Kearny Mesa office door into a tacky, bright, cookie cutter tiki bar. Interior looked like someone went all out on a Hawaiian-themed office party. Ive been to airport bars with more charm. Was curtly informed the 6 empty tables were reservation only but we could sit on a bench in the hallway if we liked. Looked through the menu - these arent real cocktails, but are made with some kind of soju-like liqueur. Not sure how you advertise a tiki bar, or a speakeasy, without liquor. Everyone, and everything, in this bar looked sad. I understand why.
A fun little hidden tiki place with a nice atmosphere. Small and intimate. The drinks were cool and the decor was absolutely 100%. I didn't try the food but it looked like a lot of sliders and tacos. Some people left after a drink but my friends and I had a blast there and stayed for several rounds.
This is by far be my favorite speakeasy bar I have visited. It is so colorful and music vibes so well and not to forget the place is super trippy. They are open only on Friday and Saturday as of this review. And its quite a tiny place , probably max occupancy of 30 so it can get crowded and loud. You will need a key to enter the place , finding the place and key is completely speakeasy experience. We loved all the drinks we ordered. Tip: its good to have a reservation.
The guy said he would let us in, 10 minute wait but after 40 minutes we left.
