Secondly, your quick assumption about race is grossly incorrect as we treat ALL customers alike, with the utmost respect. Read our previous reviews from our 24 years in business. As for the situation that you describe above, it is plausible. During these unusual and difficult times, we have found that customers have been extra patient and understanding rather than inpatient and throwing ungrounded accusations. We are a very small, intimate jewelry boutique. Therefore, we are complying with the current social distancing and mask-wearing rules. This has been challenging for our staff as well as our customers. Because we are a jewelry store, leaving a customer while they are looking at jewelry is a security breach. Between customer appointments, our sales associates need to make sure everything is put away and sanitized before letting the next customer in. Therefore, if both sales associates are busy with clients they can not come to the door. This is why we have a sign on the door explaining our policy and requesting that you call with any questions. I wouldnt recommend this store. I arrived with an appointment but was left waiting outside while the employees inside were doing various activities. They didnt come talk to us, they just left us waiting outside, I dont know if maybe its because of the color of my skin, but jewelry is about an experience, and this experience didnt come across as friendly and welcoming.
I worked with Irina to reset my engagement ring. She was professional, helpful and personable. The finished product is beyond amazing. It's so gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. The process could not have been easier and I am thrilled. I would recommend Soho Gem to everyone!
I bought an engagement ring from Winona, and loved the whole process. She gave me all of the education I needed, worked with me to figure out my taste as well as my partner's, and turned the ring around in a timely manner. She also helped resize it after the fact (whoops) for no extra charge. I was a bit nervous coming to a place in SoHo, I thought that it would be super expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised with how well Winona was able to work in my budget. The best part - my fiancée is absolutely enchanted with the ring!
