Campers - Don't be fooled by the 'Camping in the Forest' brand, this is mainly a caravan site with a very limited camping area and no camping pitches available by the loch. The camping area is directly next to the entrance area so you're disturbed by people coming and going all night. The camping area is lit all night by both by the floodlights on the building at the entrance and by the surrounding lamp posts which remain illuminated all night. If you want to actually camp in the forest, (rather than to be a neglected afterthought in the corner of a caravan site), head along to the forestry and land site a little further along.
Not worth paying 91 for 2 nights. Barrier closes at 10 so you can't get back in if you wanted to go out. Was made to believe there was a shop on site there wasn't. We left after 1 night. Once arriving got told can't use generator. No noise? No fires even if very responsible. Isn't this what camping is about? I respect other people at all times but some of these rules are ridiculous for a camping site. I went to reception thinking shop was still there to be told was took over by new owners. But 2 ladies in front of me needed help with something and man working here being slightly rude to them to were the lady working here told him to be quiet, one positive thing I can say is its got.the most stunning views that's it. Doubt il be back.
