Service was great... drink i ordrred was incredible, but ribeye that my husband ordered had NO seasoning, for a $41 steak it should have had incredible flavor. But sorry nope. I got the seafood bake of $29. Only flavoring was the butter sause it was in. And very small portion. I was suprised. Had maybe two shrimp maybe 2 1/2 scallops and rest was crab meat. It was good, but was suprised at the size. Not worth the price to go back for us. But again the black light mimosa was incredible. That was worth the $9.
First, the hostess was very generous in seating us as a walk-in when they were booked solid with reservations. Second, my wife said the chicken alfredo was very good, and the kids seemed to enjoy their hot dog and mac and cheese. My risotto tasted great, but was crunchy - the rice wasn't fully cooked. The restaurant has a very nice feel to it, but it was in the basement if a Ho Jo's and apparently the only route from the rooms to the pool? There was a steady flow of guests through the restaurant in swim suits. It became confusing.
This was our first time trying What If... We are new to the area. The restaurant is located on the lower level of the Howard Johnson hotel. There was a slightly moldy smell to the inside of the building. Our server was excellent. She was very attentive and provided outstanding service the entire meal, even when the restaurant was busy. Our appetizer of calamari was undercooked. My drink from the bar tasted odd. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was only two ingredients, and I only had two sips. The bread with oil was bland. The salad dressing was also, sadly. My husband's steak was grey, when he ordered it medium. My scallops were so overcooked they were inedible. After a full meal, including appetizer, we were both hungry when we left and drove through a fast food restaurant. We also overhead the table across from us discussing their food, and how they were displeased with it, right before we left. I feel sorry for the wait staff, because the cooking of the food is out of their control. But it cost a lot of money to eat at Taco Bell.
