Im a person with a disability. I asked the owner if he would work with me and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for mentoring on screen printing. I work with paper and parchment for books so it was in no way a conflict of interest. The owner agreed. I provided all the paperwork for Threads to become a statewide vendor. When my Vocational Rehabilitation counselor followed up by phone, the old man changed his mind without a good reason. This put my business behind by a month. Very disappointing that Threads doesnt help people with disabilities with mentoring support because we face harsh discrimination every day by the White Privileged who dont understand us or care to help. Ive moved all my business out of town because of this, contrary to the fact I believe local business should support local businesses. If anyone has a disability, I recommend staying away from Threads and buying online. Theyre culturally incompetent when it comes to dealing with people with disabilities.
Thank you SO much! We appreciate you taking the time to share this. Hope to see you again soon!
