As a mother/daughter writing this we can share some knowledge we learned after 4 years (please don't waste your money) that some of the teachers, we knew more about their personal lives, children , husbands... Which children are there to LEARN , not about you. This is a Professional atmosphere. OUR KIDS ARE HERE TO LEARN THEIR DESIGN AREA! Not your life! And some of the teachers were very unpredictable and unprofessional. English should be spoken language in ALL classes . Unless all students speak another language. In the Fashion Design not everything was covered because it wasn't either in the syllabus, there was no teacher to teach it or no time to learn it. Tech packs,CAD program,Grading and Tailoring were some of the areas NOT covered which is IMPORTANT for a child to learn in the Fashion Industry today. The time was not there and everyone's skill level was different so it made it difficult to teach as some were more advanced/behind than others. If Heather Ujiie could run her own school it would be a plus as my daughter only truly learned from her. She is an amazing teacher and human being. That is the only reason this school gets a star for her. Then there was the BULLYING....
They are now under investigation by Ombudsman for fraudulent behavior. Save your money , they are not trust worthy, prejudice as well. Girls would write the N word on walls not once but twice and other racial remarks. I now have an professor at my new college who's an alumni and said that the school was suspicious when they attended.
The staff seemed undertrained for some of the more academic courses. Financial aid didnt seem to care about helping me attend this school. The atmosphere was very hateful and the residential life didnt take complaints seriously. I lasted a month and after severe bullying and threats from my roommate AND her parents of police reports for stealing her belongings (without any proof as I also had stuff go missing) and putting cameras up in my dorm room, I took it to res life and they told me to find people to switch rooms with (no other help). Note that I had concrete evidence of the cameras and asked to be moved immediately due to extreme discomfort and they STILL didnt even try to connect me with people who had extra space. I ended up withdrawing after a month of school and I was $700 in debt from just buying supplies for classes (the $50 cap for foundations is bs) and my parents owed $10,000. This was all for ONE MONTH of school. I would highly suggest anything other than this school.
