My husband and I took our 8 week old kitten here to get his first vaccine and he was accidently injected with the Leukemia shot instead. The assistant who retrieved the shot failed to make sure it was the correct shot. The vet failed to make sure it was the correct shot before injection. It was not until after our kitten was injected that the vet decided to read the label and realized it was the incorrect shot. Our kitten went home with 2 sore legs and did not walk for the rest of the night and cried out in pain when we picked him up. He is back to semi normal this morning but we are not happy about the experience.
Was told they would not see my puppy because I'm not a current client there due to covid 19. I'm not understanding the connection between an existing client and a new client in regards to the issue that was givin, all of the same precautions can be taken. The woman who answered the phone was also snarky and not very helpful. I chose to call this vet because I've always heard decent things in the years past. Maybe they have gone down hill. Beware, the care may have gone downhill as well.
This review is long overdue. Dr. Houts has been caring for our dog Billups through a very complicated situation. She goes above and beyond for him. She has always taken time to make sure I understand the treatment plan and have input into that plan. She has texted with me after hours, reached out to other providers on my behalf, even negotiated diagnostics at a discount because Billups was suffering, and I had extremely limited funds. Dr. Houts is very sensitive, compassionate, and caring. She takes the time to provide excellent care. We are deeply grateful for her.
