We heard you out on many occasions Donna but unfortunately you didn't us. You failed to mention above that you cancelled staying at The Cotswold Manor House as the upcoming wedding you were attending was cancelled so you wanted to then cancel with us. We are sympathetic to this, however we had explained to you that at the time of your stay, groups were still able to mix and we remained very much open for business. You prevented us from having another group stay and we rightly retained your 'commitment' deposit. Businesses like ours have suffered quite severely due to the government rules & regulations, so we needed to be ensuring the weekends we were able to offer were available. We already lost out on you not paying the balance. It's pretty harsh your group wouldn't accept that perhaps on this occasion, you should take the responsibility for the uncertainty that covid-19 & the regs has brought upon us all. We are confident on this booking that we acted fairly and with integrity. We now have an insurance policy for all future bookings that guarantee a full refund for cancellations up until 2 days prior to check in. This would have worked well for you as even changing your mind is an acceptable cancellation reason under this policy. It is included in the cost and gives great reassurance for guests, especially in the current climate.

A group of us were due to go to this accommodation in September, but due to government guidelines ,of groups of different households not mixing ,we decided it was best as a group not to go, for the sake of our family's and also having key workers in the group. (There would have been 11 of us mixing). We tried to compromise fairly with this venue ,on different occasions to cancel and rebook for another date. Correspondence was disproportionate and unprofessional from the venue and will not engage with us to try to come to some sort of compromise with another date. And are therefore keeping out deposit of 750. Which I think is unacceptable and unfair.
Hi Susan. Unfortunately we were required to cancel all of our bookings of large mixed groups from the 21st June until the 19th July, it was another devastating blow for our business. We did book in families which were legally allowed to stay which was helpful for us. Perhaps the Hen party you were referring to is the one that camped in our garden in Bell Tents and were therefore legally utilising the property and space. They came to us last minute and a legal, well organised gathering. I appreciate you are disappointed that your daughter couldn't have the Hen party at our venue that you wished for, but please acknowledge that it is not us who made the rules and we have suffered already with more forced cancellations. Wishing for others to not book and delivering us a 1 star rating is pretty mean spirited considering you haven't explored the circumstances surrounding your upset. I would encourage you to revisit your rating of us or indeed call if you'd like to discuss further.

It was poor as we booked it months ago, b4 covid restrictions, then covid lockdown came, we booked for 19 people for a hendo. Only to be told by you that we couldn't have the house anymore as when the restrictions lift on the 21st June you were going to only book a family in the house, but what did I find on Instagram but a message from a hendo party saying thanks for a brilliant house and weekend, the same weekend we should of had. Was it there was more of them so you got more money or something else. Thanks for ruining my daughters hendo, hopefully other people will see this and won't bother booking you.

Beautiful house and best kitchen weve ever had in a holiday let. 3 ovens is awesome. Had the best dinner with friends and made plenty of use of your lovely wine fridge. Would love to come again.

We'd disagree with you that the exterior needs 'major refurbishment', however we'd be very interested to hear from you further as to your comments above. We feel our property is well maintained & provides a great guest experience for large groups, Hen Parties & Families. A large venue for big groups to meet up and celebrate. Far from luxurious, lack of bathroom/shower facilities. Interior needs some TLC and exterior needs major refurbishment. More comfy chairs needed in garden.
