Feel this restaurant has a captive audience being situated directly across from The Theatre Royal. For me personally the choices were limited. I'd have like more vegetarian options. The broccoli I had was both cold and tough. The service was reasonable. The waitress was lovely. Will I be back, don't think so.
Very disappointed with main course. Mushroom Wellington with Vegan haggis ( not spicy ) Would have been OK but was spoilt by a strawberry jam coating Would have been better with a tomato based topping. They tried to charge us for a green Thai curry that our party of 11 never ordered. Expensive, almost the cost of a decent Xmas meal. Worst meal of the 5 day holiday. Even Weatherspoons was better. Shame really. Restaurent was cosy, service OK and I loved the piped folk music. But did the chef think he/she was serving me a dessert. Strawberry jam indeed ! We were never asked was everything OK with the meal.
We got the chance to look at the tasting menu and decide what we wanted to order. The food came at the right time and it was super nice and tasty. Service was good and the only reason that Im not giving 5 stars it is because we were seated by the toilets and the e emergency exit were it was very cold
Not what we expected. It was our last night in Glasgow so we decided to opt for a nice restaurant. The food here was fantastic..but not the service. We turned up 10 minutes early and were asked if we would like drinks at the bar as the table wasn't ready. We did this. We then moved onto our table and were left sitting there for 20 minutes, as the waiting staff focused on a large family party behind us. Another couple were also left and were sat next to us. Eventually we ordered, and we asked if it'd be OK to swap home cooked chips with rosemary fries, to go with a steak we paid 30 for. The food came and was sent out with home cooked fries, and we were told the chef was sending out some fries later. Whats the point of that? A total food waste and basically not paying attention. The waiter then cleared our empty wine glasses without asking if we wanted another, so I waited another 15 mins to try and get someone's attention to order. Later on he apologised and told us that he had been focusing on the large party and one of his colleagues had prompted him to go and check on us all. We didnt leave a tip. We explained we weren't happy and were offered a coffee which we refused. Basic lack of attention to the basics. If you want nice Scottish food with great service, go to the pipers tryst up the road from here.
