I'm sorry that you feel that way Ms. Ford. Fortunate for me, thousands of other client's that I've served over the past 24 plus years don't feel the same. The Federal Court Judge in your case tried to advise you up front that our case, brought against 6 Police Officers was gonna be a tough sale to the jury. She also reminded us all in open court that the courtroom was hers and not your lawyers. In the end It was a federal jury that decided your case, not my firm's lack of desire or ability to win. I really liked your son and believed in his case, and that's the only reason that I even took the case, mind you , with your case having even come to me because of your oldest child and daughter, she herself bei ng a very accomplished, extremely intelligent and first-class business professional, who asked me it I would consider taking on your son's case after she and I had worked on a case together. Again, the jury decided the ultimate fate of your son's case, not me. I've won jury trials as well as successfully resolved Civil Rights-Police Misconduct Cases in the past. I will admit publicly that the judge that we were before was very tough. It was me fighting your you and your son in court that ultimately resulted in me being reported of wrong-doing to the State Bar and this in turn resulted in me receiving my first and only reprimand and also being required to be sanctions to opposing counsel and the defendants. That mam, is not the actions of a lawyer who's unwilling to fight to the end for his client. Nevertheless, the handling of your son's case afforded me another opportunity to fight for the rights of an individual whose civil rights I genuinely believed had been violated. And for sure, I applaud your genuine love for your son and the desire you had to stand up and fight for him and his constitutional rights. trust me, I too wished that the end result would have been what we (i.e you, your son and my entire legal team) all wanted, that being true justice. I in good-faith believed that the $15M that we prayed for and requested of the jury was both reasonable and appropriate given the circumstances. Again, unfortunately, the jury did not. In the end the jury questioned the validity of the facts as presented and rendered its final verdict accordingly. They "No-Caused" us (i.e. they found for the police and awarded your son no damages). Unfortunately, I like you was initially crushed by the verdict and it took me years to rebound from that verdict emotionally. But in turn, I pledged to move on and live to fight another day, hoping and believing that one day, justice would be had for all, including persons similar to your son. Out of respect for both your son and you, publicly, I have nothing else to add. You're a great mother. And I've always told you that. So I say: God bless you , your son and your entire family.

To call Johnny Hawkins an Attorney, is a joke. He runied my son's civil case, warrior should never be in his vocabulary, when he refers to himself, the word should be wimpy, he was working with the defendant's attorneys, he was afraid of them, so he helped them sabotage my son's case, he helped the defendant's who lied, committed fraud, perjury, from the Judges to the defenfant's and their attorneys, broke the law, filed false documents, forged documents, violated me and my son's rights. Johnny Hawkins never did anything to fight for my son, the dishonest, deceitful attorneys for the Southfield Police department filed false charges aganist me to win the case. They conspired with State Farm Insurance company, to have my benefits cut. Johnny Hawkins didn't file things, he was supposed to. He didn't know the rules or the law, I had to tell him he had to respond to the defendant's motion for Summary Judgement, my son and I would tell him, what the law was and he would tell us, not to tell him anything, because we weren't lawyers, Johnny Hawkins is an Incompetent attorney. He should stick with accidents, I regret the day, I hired him. Yes I'm very angry that I hired a moron, to represent my son. Sincerely, Johnette Ford.
