Today My Toyota Camry was due for an Oil Change, and the individuals at Universal Toyota had taken approximately 3 and a half hours to complete. I arrived at 2:30 PM and found out there were no other cars with higher maintenance being worked on, and they STILL took their sweet time and finished around 5:40PM. Universal Toyota continued to charge me full price on the labor fee, and I am not satisfied with my visit considering an average oil change doesn't take that long.

I am a veteran Toyota owner since I got my Corona, my first car, in 1971. Universal has been my dealership since they opened. I have NEVER had a negative experience. This time I was surprised to have a narrated video by my technician walking me through the inspection of my vehicle! Cudos to Universal and Toyota!

I came by Universal Toyota a few weeks ago to check out some of the GR Supras they had on the lot. As soon as I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by Robin Ma and Sawyer Dillon. Ive dealt with many salesmen in my life, and Sawyer and Robin were two of the absolute best Ive ever worked with. They were both incredibly knowledgeable and charismaticwhile the salesmen at the other dealerships I visited didnt seem to take me seriously as a client, Sawyer and Robin went out of their way to give me the best experience possible. They made sure all my questions were answered, chatted with me while we were waiting for paperwork, and overall made me feel like a human, which is more than I can say for some of the other dealerships I visited. When I went into finance, Brad Loeffler took great care of me. He explained all of my options clearly, helped me make the best choice for my protection needs, and made what is usually the least fun part of buying a car both easy and enjoyable. Sawyer, Robin, and Brad made my visit to Universal Toyota the best car buying experience Ive ever hadIm in love with my new Supra and I would easily recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle!

Terrible experience, came in initially due to good word of mouth regarding honest reasonable dealership fees and no market adjustment unlike other Toyota dealerships. Met with a sales person, talked through numbers, agreed on the price and put down a deposit to reserve a vehicle with the price already roughly agreed upon. What followed was nearly two months of waiting with multiple guarantees the vehicle was going to come just the end of this week and when the date arrived no call or no communication. Had to call them to ask what what was going on, only to be told it was delayed and it would arrive at a later date. Comes down to it and what was told to be by the end of April turned to mid May and wouldve probably been later if not for another vehicle being available sooner. Come to find out that sometime between the deposit and the car being available a 2000 dollar market adjustment was added, totally screwing the pre agreed upon quotes. No communication regarding when that happened until we were sitting at the table, credit already checked and numbers being ran. What used to be a reasonable deal with only a 900 dollar dealership add on package became almost 3000 dollars of added charges over night. And without any indication of when that happened between deposit and availability nearly two months of time was wasted where we couldve been looking for other vehicles. I can only imagine how much more time we wouldve wasted if it wasnt for another vehicle becoming available suddenly, I have no doubt they wouldve kept us blind until months later when the vehicle originally discussed about arrived. Add in a sales manager who seemed like he thought anyone even trying to point out the shady ness of the entire process and how their reasonable market adjustment came out to being the second highest of all the San Antonio Toyota dealerships and the process leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Word of advice, unless you want to throw money away and be thrown for a loop by probably more surprise adjustments, call ahead and make sure you get numbers set in stone while you wait for your vehicle or better yet just go somewhere else. These days, unless youre buying high end vehicles, save for Audi or maybe lower end bmws, the reliability of most modern cars lies roughly the same. Or if theres is a significant change in reliability, its not worth getting your pockets fleeced for thousands of dollars. Overall unless you want to baby sit and micromanage your car deal go somewhere else and dont deal with the headache.
