Pathetically, this is a "revenge rating". Bill Snyder is not one of our students. He has never taken any of our classes, nor has he ever purchased any of our products. He is the owner of a construction company (William Snyder Construction) whom we hired personally to do some work on our house. A few days ago we left a 1-star review titled "Disappointed", based on our experience doing business with his company. Originally I felt kind of bad about having to leave an unfavorable review, however knowing that he is willing to engage in such low-brow and vengeful business practices tells me we were correct in our assessment. This is the worst type of internet trolling and Bill, you should be ashamed.
I've taken primitive skills classes elsewhere and none have had the impact that Eddie and Julie's classes have had on me. Their property is absolutely beautiful and they teach in such a way that it's easy (even for me) to pick up on the skills. I loved the flint knapping, soap making (I've made my own soap ever since I took their class), carving spoons, shelter/fire building, plant identification... The open skills nights are fun being around like-minded people with the same type of passion for learning primitive skills. I've met and stayed in touch with some really cool and talented folks from taking classes here. Thanks Eddie and Julie for all that you have taught me and will teach me.
I can't spend enough time here... at least 35 workshops, a week of "Feral Human Project" and counting! Eddie and Julie are incredibly knowledgable, thorough, patient, and kind. I have had many teachers in my life who were knowledgable about specific subjects, but the ability to teach and impart those skills is a whole different animal and Eddie and Julie do that well. I was self study on these topics for years and my skills increased exponentially, as did my quick understanding of what I didn't know that I thought I did. Small class sizes are perfect. Sign up, these classes are worth every penny!
Many survival skills teachers out there are full of pride and insecurity, and therefore hesitate to make known all their knowledge; such is NOT the case with Eddie and Julie! They are both extremely knowledgeable and generous with both their time and their skills. I have learned so much from them. I have taken classes in foraging, plant medicine, primitive fire making, archery, longbow making, awareness, stalking, food preservation, tracking, navigation, and much more. Everytime I take a class, I always learn a lot and have a great time doing so. I highly recommend taking a class at Practical Primitive.
