We are so sorry for this Isabel. The quality of the Chromebook laptops are good, yet sometimes the volunteers, especially those that are new, have either missed a step in fully charging the batteries and testing the length of their life. We have communicated this issue among our managers and will be trying very hard to make sure the Chromebooks come out as perfect as we can, without making our clients drive back to LFC to exchange it. Also, you should have been given a new receipt, with the 30-days starting over at the time of the exchange. If you tell us where you live, I can attempt to drive a Chromebook out to your home, or a central meeting place near your home. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you.

I was looking forward to the chromebooks for my 3 girls but i had to exchange one within 4 days of purchase and now im on my 2nd one with the same problem...i don't live in salinas to have to be driving 25 minutes to be exchanging them.plus i was given the same purchase date on the swapped one... could it be that they overheat and shutt down? If so how long before they turn back on? I hope its something simple

I called to volunteer here, but unfortunately i was not able to due to the start of coronavirus and my asthma. Other than that, they did take almost a month to set up my already 75% built PC, all I needed was the network adapter to be set up, and my RGB fans/cpu as this was a computer for someones birthday and I am not very technologically literate. I did research a lot and after starting it up and checking everything, there isnt even a network adapter installed. the internet stopped working, and the Ethernet doesnt work either. This forced me to do intensive research on just to figure out how to fix it. I still havent, thus forcing me to keep the PC meant for someone else because it was not set up correctly. It had the operating system installed fine. They also couldnt get my three PC case fans to work with RGB, and I had to pay $55 (a fair price, but not for what i got) to have a pre bought operating system to be installed with an already built PC. It should not have taken a month, nor should it have been malfunctioning in any way.

Their tech guys are awesome. I recently purchased 2 laptops for me and my friend. If it wasn't for loaves I wouldn't be able to afford one, plus they gave me a free printer. They have several options for low cost internet if you qualify. Truly a God send !!

Hello Marvin. My name is Christian and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Loaves, Fishes & Computers. This disappoints me greatly, and I take full responsibility for what had transpired. I fully understand your disappointment and frustration with the situation. After investigating the matter internally, I have come to the conclusion that we do deserve your rating of 1 star. This time, we didnt deliver a quality service to the community. I think what it came down to was a volunteer in training didnt put the computer back together properly, as the CD Player required the computer to be taken completely apart... and for some reason, it was not noticed by someone, somehow at LFC. The managers have met and discusses how to not allow this to happen again. Please let me say one thing out of defense of LFC. Though it might have appeared to be a bait and switch, I promise you it was not: we never have done this...and never plan to do this. It is not a part of our culture, or our DNA. I would rather LFC go out of business before that happens. The volunteers are quality checking a fully-refurbished laptop we would like to give you at no-charge that should be complete around Tuesday or Wednesday next week. First I will start this review with we are all limited by our experience With that said I went to L and F in Feb 2019 to have them work on my laptop and instead of working on it it was recommended that I purchase a laptop off E-Bay I did so in Aug 2019 it stopped playing dvd's so i took it back to L and F to see what was wrong they told me it needed a new dvd drive ( by e-mail) i responded to go ahead and purchase it never got a response a month later I went in to office and was told that I had to purchase it first and I told them that I never got a response from there rep ( strike one) a week later I was e-mailed again and told that the seller had sent the wrong part(foul ball) i then went in to said office and was told it was ready it was not the scroll did not work the keyboard did not work the mouse did not work (they all did before it was WORKED ON)then I was told it was also my mother board so they would build and SELL me a laptop after destroying my old ones for parts ( per my recommendation) it has now been over two months (STRIKE TWO) I then waited until Dec.11 to call them and find out what was going on they said they had a built computer for me but did not know what price the boss would charge me! So I had had enough (three months) I told them I just wanted my (now destroyed)laptop back and I would not trust them to change a watch battery . my exp. tells me they played the old bait and switch
