Went to this zoo 4-23-22 with the family. Have been to this zoo numerous times but on this day we felt scammed. Pretty much the only animals out where fake lanterns. What happened to all the animals?

We went near to closing time so we weren't able to go in. But it was Memorial Day and they were offering 50% off for Veterans. I'm not sure if it was just for that day or everyday

Growing up in the city and literally grew up with the zoo as my back yard. And yet, I find myself spending more time here now with my kids or some days with my dog, than i did in my younger years. Ive watched this park become such an amazing gem for all people of all ages. So much great creativity, events and it all comes down to bringing community back together. And theyve done it remarkably well, from the zoo, to the splashpad and butterfly farm just to name a few. The japanese garden, the paddleboats, the botanical garden, carousel. And the events they throw in the zoo, like the asian lantern spectacular (photo )So many options, I do hope that throughout all the changes, we honor such a place, that bring memories to many, by maintaining it, without it becoming a walk through a landfill.( Except creatively) Otherwise.
