Beautiful camp with a peaceful vibe. Unfortunately nearby construction throughout the night kills that vibe. The sounds of heavy machinery and trucks backing up with their beeping sounds ruins any chance of sleep. Finally, campsite 94 is one you give your worst enemy because its right next to the restrooms and the lights outside of the restrooms stay on all night long.
While the staff were friendly and the redwoods are beautiful, we feel like we were a bit mislead. From reading the reviews and the website, we were expecting to park our RV, have views of the redwoods, to hike to Henry Cowell with our toddler (who we were carrying in a baby carrier) get some nice quiet sleep and just have a little fire outside with family. This is NOT what you are getting here! First of all, the campsites are super tiny and the RVs are cramped next to each other. We paid $90 X night to wake up to views of RVs all over us instead of redwoods. The people behind our campsite were so loud and obnoxious late into the night. The only way to hike is to either cross a river, like literally in the river type of crossing, or you have to walk down the very narrow and dangerous road. We were too scared to do that with our child and felt stuck, bored, and annoyed by all the people literally right next to you and all around you. It felt like we were staying in a crowded trailer park. We left early and although we lost money, our piece of mind was far more important. I would never recommend this place! ***Posted a picture of our view from behind the RV. Btw, that's another campsite next to this one. Yes, they really pack everyone like sardines there!
Beautiful, very clean, friendly campground in the Redwoods with excellent customer service. Only 10 minutes away from Santa Cruz. Perfect location on the San Lorenzo River, near Roaring Camp Railroad and The Mystery Spot, and across from the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. I can't wait to camp here again! Highest recommendation!
This place is nice but the people who work here are so rude. It ruins the whole experience. I have actually never been treated so bad by anyone until I spoke to the staff at this place. I would recommend going to the rv resort right next door to them they at least speak nicer to there visitors
