Bill S., I'm sorry you felt you were treated unfairly during the peak parking time during the Niantic Light Parade last night. As explained to you over the phone last evening, The Pit offered a place for all of its paid members to park for the event. On the night of the Light Parade, we offer our members a place to stay warm, use the restroom, and enjoy hot chocolate and snacks before, during, and after the frigid event. Over the past 3 years we have been here in beautiful downtown Niantic, we have offered this perk to our members. Because the parking area is quite desirable, we have the need to zone off all of the parking areas designated to our building. Last year, we had non-members move the cones/signs and try to park in the reserved spots so we feel the need to police the area a bit with a few young volunteers. Before the parade began, we had a few non-members such as yourself try to park in our member's spots and you were informed by 2 x 14 year old girls and a 12 year old that the spot was not available to which you retorted in a threatening manner "I'm going to give you a bad review on Facebook!" Upon feeling the situation could escalate, one of the players came inside the building to retrieve me. By the time I came outside, your vehicle was gone. After minimal search on Google, it appears that all 3 of the businesses you took the time to review were given negative ratings. It is odd that someone who described himself as "an active community member of East Lyme" can only find time to negate local businesses and not take the time to give any positive feedback. I'm proud to own a business in Niantic and I'm happy that my members are all provided with convenient parking and a warming hut for the Niantic Light Parade each year. I really hope this place learns from its mistakes after all they are a training company for sports. I went to park near there facility for the Niantic Light Parade and was told very rudly that I would have to move my car that they are only reserved for PIT members only. I said seriously with the amount of people going to the parade you are going to hold spots for works outs they said yes. I moved my car with out saying anything else shocked that a company that would act like this when Main St was closed at 5:30 to all traffic and a parade next door to them. You would think they would want good publicity as this was a community event but hey guess not. I spoke with Debbie one of the owners and she claimed that they were holding the spots for there over 200+ members to go and see the parade and that they had come of there members that people needed to move. I dont mind if that is what they want to do as a business but either be nice about it or see bad reviews I would never step into the facility at this point or even recommend them to anyone. Response to the owner Debbie: No threat manner was given it was a promise that I was gonna write a bad review about you. Maybe should have adults out there instead of children or maybe those children should be responsible and respect adults.
Sophie, I'm sorry you are not satisfied with our scheduling. As we stated up front, Angelo's availability for lessons (2 days out of the week) is very rigid. Because you waited until the baseball season began to start training, it limits everyone's schedules. While Covid has caused issues with training in large groups at The Pit, individual training was not affected. All of our customers are "important" but we will not change the schedules of athletes who have been committed to their training with us for the past 4-6 months because your son can only attend on 2 specific days per week. We try our best to accommodate clients with their games, practices, and rain outs/reschedules. And we are a family business so we like to go see or own children play as well. They are "important" to us. Your son's final 4 lessons have been refunded.

Our son had been asking for a batting coach for a while. So once all the COVID stuff calmed down and baseball season began we decided on The Pit. His batting coach seems good. Parents can not go in to watch so we have no idea other than the report that is emailed after. His first game is Saturday so maybe we will have more to go off of. Not pleased with communication. After almost a month we have only been able to schedule 2 sessions. Obviously stuff happens the world is crazy. However, not replying to emails for a week and not returning phone calls is unprofessional. Seems like once we paid all interest was lost in us as customers. They must schedule "important" customers then have a slot to fill so you may get a call or email back. Also, not scheduling in advance?! Not even a week? Very odd. Well the only way to know is to try and we tried. Still have 4 sessions left in package will we ever get those sessions? I'm sorry to see that your response is to refund. We understand that scheduling is tight. Initially, when my husband called to get information he was upfront about our concerns with Angelo's limited availability and was told the weekdays were pretty much open due to weekends being reserved for schools. We had not even gotten a response to an email I sent Wednesday about scheduling his next sessions. Having trouble understanding this. But it is was it is.
Thank you, Penelope! We hope to see your family again soon!
