My husband and I both had PRK surgery here. My experience was ok, my husbands not so great. He was farsighted to begin with. His prescription was +4.75 and +4.25 before surgery. They neglected to tell us that when you are far sighted and your eyes are bad, that you will probably need a touch up surgery because your eyes will regress. He had the surgery and it was an awful experience. He had an allergic reaction to the eye drops they prescribed. And his eyes regressed after the surgery. He had such an awful time he decided to just go back to contacts. After a few weeks, he decided to try the surgery again because it wasnt the doctors fault he had an allergic reaction. He had the second surgery and they prescribed another eye drop. I called the doctor because after using these new drops, he was having the same symptoms as the allergic reaction before, they told us to continue using the drops, he would be fine. Took him to his first follow up appointment and the doctor looked at his eyes and was very upset because he was having an allergic reaction and he asked who told us to continue to use those drops after I had called in. I told him that his office did. He said he wanted to see my husband back to check on his progress. In the meantime, my husband got called out of town to work. When he got back to town, we called for a follow up and were told we would have to pay for a follow up visit. These people dont care about their patients. They are money hungry, herd you in and out like cattle, dont explain the surgery or the risks and complications. They are not there for follow up exams or questions. We would not recommend them at all.

Absolutely horrible with scheduling if your appointment is at 1 oclock plan on seeing the doctor by maybe 2 oclock (overbooked ) Looking for a new facility. Longest Ive ever waited to see a doctor left in waiting room saw Doctor for two minutes decided needed photos which conveniently gave him a chance to see the next patient . All you are is a number hurry up to the next room and wait and wait and wait Do doctors not think the patients have a life as well

I had lasik and cataract surgery several years ago. I dont care if i hace to fly back from Florida for my appointments. I feel that they know my history, have àlways taken care of me, been friendly, helpful, accomodating and ensured i had the utmost care possibĺe.

I am very sorry to hear that despite knowing your experience with the first eye, and giving you a shot for maximal anesthesia in the second eye (and complete numbing of your eye muscles as you alluded to), you still had discomfort in the second eye. This is highly unusual but obviously can happen. The only other thing would been general anesthesia which was not an option at that point. Please understand that once we start surgery we have to complete the procedure even if anesthesia is suboptimal. Once again Im sorry you had to go through this, but I am confident that youll be pleased with the visual results. Please contact our after hour number if you have any further concerns tonight. Find another surgeon and surgical center. I had cataract surgery here. The first surgery was painful. I felt every part of the surgery. I had to reiterate my pain and discomfort 3 times to be taken seriously enough for the second surgery to be done with different sedation at least that's what I was told. I had the second eye done today and I spoke up that I was in a lot of pain and nothing was done about it. No one bothered to ask me how I felt before the procedure began and nothing was done to help me while I was being operated on. The muscles around my eye were all numbed but I still felt every part of the surgery. I just couldn't move my eye. I even tried to tell the surgeon I still had feeling around my eye before I was taken to the procedure room and I was ignored. edit to add.. an apology doesn't change the fact the team was not prepared to take any action if I was still in pain. In the same way a dentist may have numbed the place where they are working, they have the ability to help patients with their anxiety etc during the procedure by giving them nitrous oxide. I asked why I was not given more sedation during the surgery when it was clear I was in pain...And I understand there's not a way to make it painless.. I wasn't given any reason why some other type of sedation was not tried to help me deal with the pain and to help me stay calmer. I repeat I wouldn't recommend to people that they get care here. They are not prepared to handle any situation out of the ordinary. I would not trust them for that reason. Something as simple as ensuring the patient is as comfortable as possible is beyond them. Something as simple as Asking the patient if they can feel pain before starting a surgery is not too much to ask. Based on the response you see below, there does not seem to be a plan to change how they perform surgeries or how they care for patients.
