Wasting people's time tried to pull a bait-and-switch The first thing the leasing agent told me was that the listing I was visiting to see was "just minutes ago" leased, but the agent assured me that it's not a "strong application" so I should still see it, along with different listings. She proceeded to show me listings that were obviously smaller and lower desirability overall but somehow at a similar price point. She then "advised" me that rather than wait for the existing application for the good apartment to fall through, that I should just put up an application for one of the other listings ASAP because they're very desirable. TBH the listings were okay (although overpriced) and the amenities were great but the sole reason I decided not to even consider the property was the dishonesty, and the fact that they had no respect whatsoever for my time. It completely shattered my confidence in the management, and it seemed like a surefire indication that I'd have to deal with all kinds of headaches if I ever did decide to rent there. I usually don't like to leave negative comments because I don't want to somehow end up ruining someone's day, but I had to point this out because I didn't want anybody else to take time out of their day or even take time off work just to waste time and have to deal with this. For the same reason I had to file a claim with Streeteasy as well (It seems like Streeteasy they're trying to get ahead of this bait-and-switch stuff). I'm leaving 2 stars because the building itself was nice. But even so, I think I'd end up regretting ever leasing here because dealing with a shady management company is rarely worth it, no matter how nice a building may seem to be.

Hello - We appreciate that you took the time to leave this feedback. We have in fact have had a couple of elevators under repair over the last few weeks and for that we apologize. We have communicated timely to the entire building while this is occurring as well as made sure these repairs were done as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues, there have been some delays with repair parts. Besnik was extremely helpful with and knowledge about move in procedures, offerings and lease signing. He helped me close on a unit on a very strict timeline while remaining honest and straightforward throughout the whole process. I must say, it was a pleasure working with Besnik and Id recommend him to anyone looking to close on a unit in his building. He exceeded my expectations and surely will exceed yours too! A very memorable experience.

Ive been a resident of 21 West End for almost two years. Luckily, I moved in before the pandemic and feel so lucky to have been taken care of by General Manager Charlie Albor and his team. They communicated well at every step and did all they could to ensure everyones safety during this surreal time. They worked (and continue to work) tirelessly and yet were (and are) always positive and smiling. The building itself is gorgeous - the lobby and amenities have left no detail untouched. I always feel grateful walking in being greeted by Richard, Sharah, George and anyone and everyone at the front desk. Julio runs a tight ship in the package room and is always a delight - they happily deliver your packages too. During the pandemic, I felt so grateful for all my windows as it was if I was outside even though I was tucked safely in my home. Whenever there is an issue - major or minor - Charlie does whatever he can to address it immediately with a genuine desire for fair resolution. 21 West End is a beautiful place to call home due to the actual physical structure and the people who fill it.

We take all of our tenants opinions to heart so we are very disappointed to see your review. Overall feedback from our tenants at 21 West End has been very positive to date. We are very proud of the building, our staff and the most amazing amenity package available in a rental apartment building. We have attempted to reach out to you to discuss this review in person but we have not been able to locate a tenant file for John Willis. So, this review is either by someone who is not a tenant at 21 West End or an alias. We invite whoever wrote this review to come talk to us in person at the management office located downstairs from the lobby to see what improvements can be made. Lastly, we do not allow our tenants to participate in Airbnb type rentals or subleases. If a tenant knowingly violates their lease, we deal with them directly offline about their violation.

Apartment building is now a college dorm. Students are everywhere and the building is only concerned about filling up the building even if that means giving students a break on the lease. Amenities are not what the leasing office promises and living rooms are rented out online.
