It pains me to give it 3 stars because I love Kanarra Falls. I hiked it in early April of 2020, and I'm so glad I went when I did- the old log ladder was still there. A friend sent me pictures of the new ladder- heartbreaking. Falls with old ladder- 5 stars W/ new ladder- maybe 2 stars. The aesthetic of the falls (the best part of the hike) is absolutely ruined, in my opinion. Rest of the hike- beautiful. I really wish the Town of Kannarraville would've opted to construct another log ladder, like a replica of what was there. (Old one washed out in a flood..) "New" and "better" are sometimes so much worse, and I wish more people saw the value in leaving things the way they were.

Its nice place to hike. But the experience was awful. We paid $24 cash for permit, the lady working there didnt give us any ticket or receipt, just told us were good to go. After 3 hours (around 9:30pm) we came back, there are 5 people with 2 sticks near our car, saw we are back and ask for permit!! Including that lady who was working there early!! they made me very nervous and anxious!! My first thinking was am I going to be robbed? Because we already paid $24 when we got here, they were stopped us and literally ask for money in very Rude way! Yeah, they acted very rude!! And that lady who took our money early didnt say anything at that time! We drove away immediately. If you really want go there, my recommendation is bring the gun or weapon to protect yourself, especially if youre the only one in there.

Fabulous, inspiring, magical, and so fun! I am extremely thankful for the 150 visitor cap per day. It protects not only the trail, but also the experience; to have the opportunity to connect with a beautiful piece of nature, without being surrounded by loud crowds, is uniquely valuable. Took me about 3 hours roundtrip with a couple breaks to get to the 2nd waterfall. Water shoes are an absolute MUST and you'd be insane to do it without, as you're walking in a creek for half the hike (picked up a pair at Classic Sports in Hurricane). Flip flops and tennis shoes will not cut it. Be careful on the rocks as they do get slippery, but that's just part of the fun. Moderately difficult but still a family-friendly hike! There's a bathroom with running water in the parking lot, as well as a spigot to wash your feet and shoes, and another last-chance toilet once you get to the trailhead. Online reservations are required weeks in advance, but you can go any time between dawn and dusk. I recommend starting at least 3 hours before sunset. Best done April-October, as the water is frigid. The first half of the hike is in direct sunlight, so bring plenty of water and sunscreen.

We're really sorry you were disappointed. Our website www.kanarrafalls.com states very clearly that permits are required and limited to 150 people per day. We have also made sure that most of the popular Utah hiking sites are showing this information. We post ticket availability information on our site and it is updated daily. We hope you are able to visit us again in the future. Please plan your trip early as it is very popular during the summer and tickets can sell out several weeks in advance!

Drove an hour to get here to find out that #1 theres an entrance fee and #2 its completely sold out of tickets, and the parking lot is completely empty, and it looked like some kinda construction was going down on what looked like the office by the parking lot.... idk this was the biggest waste of gas and time.... they have no helpful info online to warn people not to drive out specifically for this disappointment...
