My husband came into your office for an eye appointment and after multiple attempts to call afterwards about ordering contacts with no response from your office, he ended up ordering them from somewhere else. Today we got a bill in the mail trying to charge us $650. The only thing you guys did was the exam, which is covered by our insurance at 100%. And no agreement was made to purchase them since we never spoke with an office rep. In addition, the bill doesnt even give an itemized list of what each charge on the bill is for and only has the letter A on each line. We will be calling this week to get this removed, but want everyone to be aware that the communication from your office is very lack luster.

The software system we use automatically submits a claim if we don't remove the payor in the ledger. And in this instance, we failed to do so, which is completely our fault. As a safe-guard we regularly run a report to identify any overpayments and issue refunds accordingly, which is what happened in your case. Please know it was simply an oversight on our part and we worked as quickly as possible to correct it. Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience.

Before I get to the bad stuff, I will say this optometrist is really nice and I love the prescription I received from them. If I hadnt experienced the following events, I would have given them five stars. So before my appointment, I received a call letting me know my eye exam would not be covered by my insurance (which is strange because I found this doctor on my insurances find-a-doctor website). I did call and check with my insurance company for whether or not I have vision insurance and apparently I do not have a vision plan. I told Cargo Eye Care that would be fine and I could pay out of pocket. All would be good until a few weeks after my exam, I notice a medical claim on my insurances website for Cargo Eye Care, covering the full cost of my exam. I call my insurance and confirm that the entire cost of the exam was covered and I should not have had to pay out of pocket, to which they told me yes, they covered the entire exam. I called Cargo Eye Care and getting the money I paid out of pocket returned was a pleasant experience and I received a check in the mail very quickly. However, I believe it is rather disingenuous for them to have told me my insurance would not cover the exam and then bill my insurance anyways without notifying me of this change. A simple phone call telling me, Hey, it looks like your insurance was able to cover the exam after all, we will return the money you paid out of pocket. or something. The fact that I had to discover on my own accord that this optometrist had double-dipped in billing and chose not to notify me is upsetting. Perhaps they didnt notice, but I still feel like even as an oversight this is a bad mark. Overall, nice people, good experience with services (eye exam), the double-charging seems a little shady, but I was able to get my money back hassle-free. I hope they are able to solve whatever may be going on with their billing so this does not happen to anyone else in the future, because other than that, this optometrist is lovely.

Ok, I have been coming to Dr Cargo now for over 10 years. Called today as I had issues with my.new glasses in the distance vision. Spoke to piper and was put on hold for 10.mins and never came back to the phone. I hung up and called back and spoke to Nicholas and told him was was going on and he told me to just at thisnpoint bring them in for a refund. There was nothing they good do to assist me further and that I could go buy glasses some place else. I asked to talk to Dr Cargo and was told he was out this week and I'd have to wait. I asked if there was someone else in charge and he said no. I paid 500.00 for my glasses and to be treated like this is unexceptable. This is just bad service. Dr Cargo has been wonderful to work with. It's some of the staff that are rude as hell at times. It's indicative that an overhaul is needed. Will be taking my business elsewhere going forward. This is just bad service. :-(
