Hello Danielle, would you please let me know what the number is you were called from. As you had to search the number it sounds as if you were being cold called, and as we do not cold call I suspect the phone number you searched for is posted among the comments on our "How To Combat Cold Calls" page where people can leave cold callers numbers. I suspect it is this page that has appeared in your results. Kind regards.

I'm sorry that you received a cold call but it wasn't from us. I assume you have been cold called by another company fishing for leads, however I have checked our database in case somebody has maliciously requested a call back using your name and can verify we have no records of a Ben Rye. We never call unless requested to do so via the website or by telephoning us. Claims management companies however can currently cold call and buy data. They then tend to call using variations similar to our website name (and others) e.g. Accident Advice, Accident Claims Services, Accident Assistance, Accident Adviceline, Traffic Accident Management, etc etc. They are an absolute nuisance and we get complaints because people understandably "Google" the variations the cold callers use and our site often shows up because of the relevance. It is highly unlikely the name you have been given is actually genuine as they are basically fishing. If they manage to hook somebody they simply pass the details on to the Claims management company who can then call using their genuine name. If the cold caller is unsuccessful it's not them who picks up the flak when they annoy so many people, because they have used a false name. Cold callers often ring from a withheld number, but if you do manage to capture any telephone numbers may we please ask that you report them here: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/how-to-report-a-complaint/nuisance-calls-and-messages One other issue that sometimes arises is that some people will deliberately send incorrect contact details requesting a call back, whether it's because they have nothing better to do, because they are malicious or more commonly as a "joke" on a friend. As I said above though I have checked our records and I can assure you we don't hold any details relating to your name. If you have time to read that it may help in the future. You will also see there are many comments from people that have received the same sort of calls and some of those have provided the phone numbers they've been called from which we have published. Just had an unsolicited call from this lot touting for business, sounds like they are ambulance chasing. They block their number too which is kinda Jimmy-Sus.

We would only call you if you had requested a call back, although it is possible somebody may have entered your phone number into one of our forms as a prank or they were malicious. However, we wouldn't have just hung up the phone, we would have explained and apologised. What was the number you were called from please as it's very likely you were cold called by somebody claiming to be us because that's what cold callers do, use others names. They are just fishing for leads and use any name as they would just pass your details onto a claims management company if you did have a claim, Cold callers aren't bothered how many people they annoy because they don't pick up the flak and get left bad reviews when they annoy people such as yourself.
