I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this two-star Michelin restaurant. The service was painfully slow, with our food taking a whole hour to arrive. We ordered a $150 bottle of wine, only to be informed 30 minutes later that they didn't have it anymore – a baffling situation. The sea urchin soup was a frozen disaster, making it clear that quality control was nonexistent. To top it off, the nearly $1400 check left a bitter taste that surpassed any of the poorly executed dishes. This place is undoubtedly the worst in the DC area. Adding to the misery, Chef Ryan was present throughout our ordeal, yet did nothing to salvage the experience. Despite the evident chaos, his lack of intervention or effort to rectify the situation further solidifies this restaurant as a regrettable choice in the DC area. The dismal experience was exacerbated by the blaring and cringe-worthy music that filled the restaurant – a cacophony of bad rap with offensive lyrics. It seems even the ambiance was a dreadful mismatch, contributing to the overall disappointment of this Michelin-starred establishment.
It was billed as the best and most expensive meal in DC. It was a disappointment. While some of the food was good and some very good it wasn't exceptional. The background music was way too loud and you couldn't hear the servers describe the dishes. We both felt they were under seasoned and they were quite stingy with the very expensive wine pairings.
This restaurant Should be punished for copyright! They should promote their own ideas and creations instead, they take from other chefs and claim is a Homage? If you go there be prepared to have just imitations with just ok ingredients.
