There are a ton of great reviews on here so maybe we got takeout on an off night. The food was undercooked (such chewy pasta!) and super over-seasoned (it's the next day and I can still only taste saffron). The food was incredibly simple for what we paid, almost like they were running out of standard ingredients. The pick up experience wasn't great. Part of the reason we picked this place was because the website mentioned a wine shop and assistance picking out a bottle in our price range. The woman was unhelpful and didn't listen. She just started listing out all the bottles around the price we wanted without guiding us to something we'd like. With two other sensational Italian places just up in Point Loma, we'll probably stay away from Solare. Really bad first impression.

SO LOUD. We had a table of six women, between 33 & 45 years old. We couldn't hear ANYTHING anyone else was saying. Do not go until they install acoustical ceiling panels. Oh and they wouldn't seat us outside even though there was a six-top available.
