Overall, Ive been satisfied with Sylvan eye. Yet, now Im not as sure. At my last appt. I had to wait over 1 hour and it conflicted with what I had scheduled for that day & had to leave without seeing the doctor (still got charged for the Appt.) Today, I have to pay $114 when Im used to paying $70 due to it being a dilation exam. I cant afford this on a regular basis via Self-Pay. And, you dont accept my insurance. Maybe its time to see another eye doctor clinic.
Horrible experience over the phone with the scheduler name of Andrea. She did not want to do her job and called me and I had to call and verify it myself and told her to call a different number. Treated me in smart alec responses and unprofessional tone, She was very sarcastic. After reporting to her manager Crystal, she called and repeated what was on the notes. She did not acknowledge what happened or was empathic to the incident. She became irritated to what I was telling her what happened and did not seen to care much of how the call went. I believe Crystal and Andrea may have a personal relationship is to why she did not have any empathy. I asked for someone higher than her and she said there is no higher and that I could not speak with Dr. Horner or leave a message and then she hung up on me. I called back and got Roxanne at optical and she was sending a message for Dr. Horner. Crystal then calls me back and says that she was canceling my appointment and releasing from office. She was upset because I was trying to get message to doctor and decided to cancel my visit. I believe Sylvan Eye had a better team before, Their office today is very unprofessional and need coaching. I hope Dr. Horner straightens his office out with a better and more professional management team. I am rating the team with 0 stars.
I have had excellent experiences on all of my visits to Sylvan Eye. Dr. Janda is very professional, thorough, and kind. He always makes sure I know all of my options and he provides helpful patient education. All of the staff I have encountered so far have made my visits positive. Tammy in the vision store was very helpful on my last visit. Thank you!
My family has been attending this place for over 5 years. Due to a family illness my husband missed an appointment and they charged him a late fee. The receptionist didn't even wait for an explanation and they were already wanting a credit card for payment. We have had some good experiences there but this one was terrible. I will not be returning with my family and if you want to be treated like a human being I suggest you find another place to go .
