Don't buy an extended warranty! We have a Kitchen Aid (made by Whirlpool) refrigerator-freezer that's been on the fritz for the past two days, but no one will come service it for another four days! Evidently Riegelmann is all too anxious to take your money, but an extended warranty is barely worth the paper it's printed on. It doesn't even cover food loss! This is similar service (or rather, lack of) that we got from Lowe's when the fridge we bought from them years ago conked out. But at least they DID cover food loss and after not being able to promptly remedy the situation the second time, they took the defective fridge back. So much for the local "mom and pop" being any better. I'll know better next time!
Do not waste your time shopping at Riegelmann's. I purchased a dishwasher from Riegelmann's last year. One week before the warranty expired the door began leaking. Their technician replaced a seal and about a month later the same leak was back. Not wanting to risk ruining my new tile floor and having water damage to my home I went into Riegelmann's intending to purchase a new dishwasher with a better designed door seal. The salesman was indignant and even combative. "There is nothing we can do for you" he said. Again my intention was to purchase a new dishwasher. Having lived in Gresham for 22 years I have purchased several major home appliances from Riegelmann's. They are no longer a reputable business and while I support buying local I will never enter Riegelmann's Appliance again.
Very good appliance selection and they really go to bat for you to find what you want. In our case, they accepted 50% down and held all our items for us until our house was finished being built. Their prices and service is on the ball, also.
These folks didnt actually do any work for me other than give me good advice. They dont work on the particular dryer that I have and thats fine. But instead of just ending the phone call they gave me advice about what I could do and who to call else. Thats the customer service that the world is missing.
I purchased a dishwasher (second dishwasher from Reigelmann's) and paid almost $1,000 for it. Was dissapointed that I also had to pay $20 for the water hose attachment and $35 for the electrical attachment. Really, $1,000 for a dishwasher and they still nickle and dime you? Expressed my thoughts on that and was told that "well we have to pay for it, it's not that simple." Which ok, whatever. Then was shown some attitude. I've supported Reigelmanns for many year. No more. Felt I wasn't appreciated at all. I need a fridge. I can tell you where I won't be purchasing it.
