Leapfrog ranks businesses from a methodology that they have put together. After rating hospitals, frequently, they will seek funding from these same hospitals to improve their scores. They believe the services they offer will improve the overall hospital. When a hospital participates in their surveys, or pays for their service, their rankings can go from the worst of the hospitals in the United States, to the top in less than two ranking periods. The ability for Leapfrog to rank hospitals, and then pay for a service to improve their rank, I believe has lead to dishonest and inaccurate results. Not only is this a conflict of interest, but it has resulted in black hat behavior. I believe a group like leapfrog should never receive funding from businesses that they rank. Especially if they claim these results are unbiased and accurate. Step up your ethics, and change your business methods so there is no conflict of interest. Do nor seek funding or expect them to go through your surveys because it is leading to inaccurate reports for your consumer to try to understand.
