I ordered a pair of jeans mid March with a delivery date in April (on the order screen). There was no delivery date in the order confirmation so I emailed to confirm and they then said mid May. While this is a long time to wait I sucked it up. Then in May I got an apologetic email from the co-founder saying they had oversold on their jeans and needed to move to a new factory etc. saying they will be in touch within a week with an updated time. 2 weeks past and I finally got an email with an updated delivery date of 30th of June (~14 weeks since my order). Through all this, I will note that there was no mention of delays on the Hiut website and they were still promising a 4 week turnaround to new customers. June came and went and half way through July I'd had enough. I cancelled my order and they refunded me promptly. While their clothing is advertised as ethical and organic, their commercial practices do not appear ethical in any way, shape or form.

Ordered from them twice. On the first instance my jeans arrived 6months late. However, the quality is great, and so, a year later I took the plunge to order a second pair....... which is yet to arrive. I've had one email to say delivery will be late, but no indication of how late. I really want to like this company and support them, but they go out of their way to deter customers. Only order if you take the delivery time with a shovel of salt and are prepared to wait 6months or more for delivery.....

Great jeans and I like the encouragement to not wash for 6 months etc. I love that the workers who make the jeans are based in Wales rather than internationally. The jeans are very expensive especially in the light of a recent Ethical Consumer article which rated Hiut jeans worst for Carbon management processes. I find this very disappointing and affects my decision to purchase in the future. Please do more Hiut Jeans and write about it. No Greenwashing.
