Dear Katshot, In the past 43 years, we've heard it all, however this is a new one! We will try hard to be a source of excitement for you on your next visit.
Hi Starmett, We understand the unfairness with your situation and the failure on our part to tell your son about our return policy. We do now have a return policy that includes both refunds and exchanges. These are case specific and depend on the quality of the returned item. It's been a long time coming, and a constant effort on our part to improve our level of customer service, but we're happy to say that things are far better than they have been in the past. We hope that you'll reach out to us at [email protected] about your experience and any additional feedback you may have.

Wow, my son purchased a knife yesterday not knowing I had already purchased the same knife on-line. When he got home, he looked at the receipt not knowing there was a no refund policy, but only an in-store exchange. My son was not informed of the return policy upon purchasing and when I called, the sales associate told me there was a sign posted near the register. I asked if they tell the customer and he said it's the customers responsibility. I asked for the owners name and the sales person said he will be in later, but he most likely would not refund the knife. I am so disappointed by such terrible customer service and will never recommend this store and by reading other blogs, this store is not liked by a lot of people for the very same reason. Terrible terrible customer service!!!
Wow! Seattle Cutlery is jam packed with knives and accessories! It's a small store with a counter on both sides of the store. There lots of knives from many brands and the fancy Japanese knives are in the very back. There are also a good number of accessories and they will sharpen knives that have been purchased in store. A fun stop while in Pike Place Market.
Cutlery store across the street from the famous Pike place market. It's a very busy area, so expect a little more difficult time finding a parking spot. The store itself is fairly small, but we'll stocked with kitchen cutlery essentials. Several high to low end kitchen knives are available, and they have cutting boards and some 'tester' veggies for cutting practice. They also carry pocket knives; lots of swiss army knives available. Also at the time of this review, several Spyderco and Kershaw knives as well as assorted brands from overseas. As to be expected for a brick and mortar store, the priced are slightly higher than online, but not excessive, save a few choice pieces. The staff is knowledgeable about their products, and will be more than able to help someone to make a informed decision on a good kitchen knife purchase. 4 out of 5 stars, one off just mostly due to my wish that they would branch out into other pocket knife brands a bit; Spyderco is a great brand, but they are a bit oversaturated with them.
They only sharpen knives purchased at the shop. Cannot bring your own knives in. Strange for a knife specialty store. The shopkeeper was also put-off when asked whether knife sharpening services. They didn't seem to want to talk at all. Didn't take it personally until the next customer walked in and their demeanor completely changed. They greeted the other customer and asked them if they needed any help. All I did was say hi and asked if they offered knife sharpening services. I'm used to being extra nice to escape prejudices, but it didn't matter here.
