Seriously go to any other dealership for service. It is far more worth it to get it up to the Salem Hyundai than Sheppard. From the start, there was a clear lack of respect for me from Bobby in the service department. The inability to give me a clear diagnosis for my car. I originally gave my car in July of 2021. They had my car until October of 2021 and I was never once offered nor given a loaner. I was never given an update from them and had to constantly call to ask for any update on my car of which I would only get an answer along the lines of "I have no information to give you." Less than a month later, my car had more problems which I then brought it to them. I was unaware of their poor quality and simply assumed it took so long previously due to slow shipping. After giving them my car, I was told to expect a call within 3 days. After receiving no call and having to call Bobby myself, I was told to expect it all to be done in a week. That week turned into two weeks. Then another two weeks, and another, all up to 4 months. I was told within that time that my car had even more problems. While I was told that there were x amount of problems with my car, not once did I ever receive a loaner until 3 months later. I emailed Bobby requesting the invoice(s) for the service and to this day the only email I received from him was an unprofessional, all caps email, telling me it will be worked on - no invoice has been given to me. I emailed the Hyundai Service Manager, Brian, as well as called him, which I was forced to leave a message for him. To this day I have not received any correspondence from Brian. After clearly being disrespected by Bobby and Brian, I asked my mom to communicate with them on my behalf. She was able to get much more information than I ever was. The only times I have ever been given any possible information from Bobby was when another problem came up with my car and it was going to cost me even more money. I have left multiple voicemail messages and never get any response from anybody at Sheppard Motors. It is clear that Bobby and Brian both have a lack of respect for anyone of a younger age. Brian and Bobby lack the communication abilities you should expect out of both a manager and customer service representative. I cannot stress enough that if you care about your time and being given clear, accurate times rather than lied to and drug on for weeks about your own personal property, go to any other Hyundai or service center possible. Sheppard Motors, Bobby, and Brian are actively shady with an obvious intent to scam and manipulate customers through lies, failed promises, and lack of both professionalism & communication.
Michelle, Thank you for also taking the time to leave us a review on Google. Again, we apologize that your experience with our service department was not a positive one. The visit you describe is certainly not the level of service we strive for. If you would be willing to discuss further, you can reach out to [email protected] or 541-762-8897. Thank you.

I took my 2008 Hyundai Elantra in to have them diagnose why my air conditioner worked great but I had no heat. Their service department didnt take the time to find out why my car was having an issue, they simply said the whole unit needed to be replaced (the cost $3000). Im not that gullible. We took it to a local shop here in Coos Bay and had my car fixed for $300. My heater and AC works wonderfully now. Im very disappointed with this dealership. I had a factory recall at the same time and they neglected to take care of it. Im scared to know if the work that I paid for ($900) to have the transmission flushed, tires rotated, oil change and a few other routine services were actually done and to what specifications. I would never recommend this dealer and I will never go back!!
Thank you for taking the time to update your review, Jennifer! Were happy to hear that Ian was able to get in contact with you and make things right. If you ever have any questions or concerns in the future, please do not hesitate to let us know.

*update - I was contacted today by the manager, Ian. He apologized and made everything right. This is the kind of customer service that I respect. I now feel I can give them more than the one star rating from earlier. Scheduled an appt for my complimentary oil change and tire rotation which came with the purchase of my new 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Had already had my last oil change here so the sticker in the window from them said to come back at 20,033 miles. My car has 21,140 miles. They wouldnt do the oil change or tire rotation because I was here 400 miles too early. So they messed up on the sticker but did nothing about it. They told me I need to make another appt. Ill hit those 400 miles tomorrow because I commute to Portland daily but didnt matter to them. If you mess up as a business, you should make up for it.
If you have warranty work to be done on your car you might want to go to an out of town Hyundai dealer. I've been waiting months for Sheppard to fix my car. So many excuses!
