Although my son has gone to Dr. Gerdts for the last several years and hes been great..his staff, particularly Amber in the front office is absolutely the worst. She blindsided me today with some astronomical costs over the phone WITH insurance and my immediate response was shock in which I told her I wouldnt be paying that since it was significantly more than we have EVER paid for his exam fee. She then told me they wouldnt be releasing the lens prescription.. After contacting my insurance company to inform them of this situation, I was attempting to call back and speak with Dr. Gerdts regarding my sons speciality lens exam, treatment and visit today to get some specific answers to a few questions from him and Amber hung up on me. Who acts like that? She has a really bad attitude problem, extremely unprofessional and she ended up telling me not once but twice that you will not be talking to Dr. Gerdts, have a nice day and hung up the phone. I am guessing shes afraid of what I have to say about her and her service or lack thereof today. Its unfortunate that I have to leave this review on all platforms because Dr. Gerdts himself is a great doctor.

Dr. Gerdtz is phenomenal great optometrist patient focused care and just all around outstanding. The drawback is the unprofessionalism displayed by his general/office mgr and Billing Mgr. When it comes to the professionalism of those two entities thats the drawback. Highly recommend the doctor but after that its the pitts. CHANGE YOUR FRONT OFFICE STAFF EXPEDITIOUSLY they are horrible to say the least. From reading the reviews others concur. Again the doctor is phenomenal but the front desk and the manager which is a very close relative is awful
