Pretty poor experience working with DMT. I was approached by them and promised the world for my 2 brands. My first issue was having to pay the monthly fees before the ads were set live. It really made me feel they didnt care about me as a client, instead they had money and could take their time. The goal was to get the ads to a break even ROI in 3 months for both brands. I gave them a modest starting budget for spend and they got going. We started in October, as they wanted to make the most of Black Friday and the gifting season. Throughout this period, they managed to get minor uplift in sales. I judged this through sales figures, not paid social reports due to IOS 14. In January, they were struggling and asked us to extend our Jan Sales to help. Throughout the time working with them, I was chasing for updates and meetings. And the one thing that I found, was they were so ROI focussed, they wouldnt spend our full budget. Now I understand this to some degree, but it did mean with their monthly fees, the ROI needed was almost unattainable. I asked them to increase spend on multiple occasions and they never did. On top of this, we had issues where they sent low converting traffic to our site and tried denying it was their doing. I was able to find the Google ad they had set up and see this was the cause. We tripled our traffic with this low converting traffic, but as it was from low converting areas, outside of where we had agreed to target, it polluted our funnels, wasted budget, and destroyed our CR. After 4 months, I worked out I had lost a huge sum of money working with DMT, across both my brands. So requested we stop the marketing. They came back and told me I was in a 12 month contract and they would continue to charge their monthly retainer for a further 8 months. When I raised the issues mentioned above, and the clear reasons for failure, they said theyd release me from my contract. This took around a week of discussions post requesting to stop. My account manager at DMT, Charlotte, was short and unfriendly. Any time I had issues, I was made to feel that DMT didnt care and it was a brand issue, not their issue. Since terminating, I have received another invoice for their work. I have asked Charlotte for clarity, but received vague emails with no real clarity and indicating I shouldnt be asking her to clarify their costs (I can provide emails if DMT wish to see after they read this). DMT said they specialise in fast fashion, and boasted big budgets from big clients. I think if youre outside this description as a business, then avoid at all costs. If your business fits this description, then go forward with caution. I will say, some of their team (a chap named Tom in particular) was lovely to work with. Others just didnt seem to care.
