Cool shop but they kept following me around. I didnt want to jump to conclusions so I just paid for my items and left. Came back a different day and the same thing happened. I was the only POC customer both times. I really hope thats not why I received extra customer service but I felt super uncomfortable and embarrassed.
4/26/19 Update to my original 4/23/19 post: I received a message from the store owner. He was very apologetic and understood that sometimes store policies need to be flexible (re: 120 day purchase date). He invited me to come back into the store to exchange or receive store credit for my handbag. Upon entering the store he greeted me warmly and his concern for maintaining a high quality of product and good customer relations was genuine. He examined my hand bag and agreed it should not be coming apart. He gave me a store credit as I did not want to exchange it (for fear I may have the same result). I look forward to seeing their new line of bags and to giving them another chance. I gave them 3 stars (had they had more of a selection and I'd been able to come home with a new purse -- I'd have given them 4. It's a nice comeback from 1. When the store first opened I rushed to check out the merchandise. I had my eye on one of their leather handbags. I never dreamed my husband would spend the $120 to purchase it for me for Christmas 12/25/18. I loved it and babied it. Never setting it down on a floor surface. Never using it when it rained. Then today (4/23/19), less than four months later, I noticed the seam in the liner is completely coming apart and beginning to come apart on the other side. My husband and I took the purse with our original receipt. The clerk said she would be happy to exchange it. I pulled the same purse from the shelf and noticed the brand new one had a tiny tear in the liner. I brought it to her attention and that was when the clerk said she could not do anything for me and could not exchange the merchandise because her "square" wouldn't allow it because it had been more than 120 days since purchase date. I told her my husband purchased it on 12/1/18 and gave it to me on 12/25/18 and didn't she agree the merchandise should last longer than that. She agreed. I will not be back.
Cool little shop to look around - I'm not really sure what they're whole idea is as they have a little bit of everything (homeware, cookware, clothes, camping supplies, liquor, tea). Everything is quite pricey, but it is generally local or from small business and high quality. The people were very friendly.
