Be careful when purchasing insurance for your shipment. The insurance only covers breakages and does not cover mysterious disappearances. Our shipment arrived 6 weeks late after a frustrating experience trying to get information about where our shipment was. The driver who delivered our shipment, who did not speak English, arrived at 6:30 at night after telling us he would arrive between 3:00 and 5:00, forcing us to unload in the dark. A box containing a bicycle was missing from our shipment and the company refused to take any responsibility for the driver's apparent theft or negligence. Customer service was unhelpful and occasionally rude when or if they managed to respond to our queries, which was usually only after we sent repeat emails. The Chinese side of the company, whom we dealt with prior to moving to the US, was fantastic. The US side, not so much. Choose another company.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH Sea and Air International if you are looking for a partner to help you with your move through the end of the process. I was hit with multiple hidden charges, which were not made clear to me when signing the contract with Sea and Air. When I reached out to our account rep Adrian at Sea and Air for support, he did NOTHING to help other than very indiscreetly forward my complaints to the international partner. And still, we were forced to work with their partner who essentially held our goods hostage unless we paid the additional unnecessary fees. Accountability from Sea and Air International ends the second you pay them the full contract amount when they pick up your goods, don't expect them to care about the service you receive after that. So disappointing, given the other reviews we read we expected a smooth service experience. To give you a sense of what we dealt with: ~$800 in extra fees charged before I could receive my shipment, which equated to ~20% of the original cost of the move ~Their partner forced me to pay $400 to shuttle my good from another location because they said a truck that could hold my 1 - 20 foot container could not be parked in front of my building. As we speak, there is a truck being loaded with 3 - 20 foot containers parked in front of my building, on a Saturday (which is way busier than a weekday when my shipment arrived). I would also like to note that my broker called the board and told Vanpac it would not be an issue. Regardless, forced me to pay for this shuttle. Sea and Air was cc'ed on all these communications and did NOTHING.
We used Sea & air International for our move to the USA and for a second time for a move within our town. Their service was impeccable, from beginning to end. I would recommend their services to anyone in needs for any type of relocation and moving services.
As a lifestyle concierge and personal assistant, I've worked with Yaniv and the crew at Sea and Air on several occasions, from local, domestic to international moves and I've had nothing but the most pleasant experience! They get the job done right, not only making sure everything is handled with care but always willing to answer questions and help with any concerns. Nothing is too difficult for them! From moving my clients' apartment across town to shipping a whole store, including a 2 ton table, overseas. They really take care of their clients, they are honest, trustworthy and professional. I highly recommend them! No move is too big or too small! Sit back and relax, you're in good hands with Sea and Air International!
We moved from Brooklyn to Australia with Sea & Air. On the day of our pick-up, the movers were unprofessional (one was arguing with his wife on the phone in the middle of our street) but got everything packed quickly. We paid $6,400 + tips in cash directly to the moving foreman per our quote. Not two days later we received an invoice for an additional $4,000+ due to going over the space limits. This is despite a thorough inventory and size estimate of our boxes and furniture directly with an account rep. The dispute over the massive price disparity (how could "professionals" possibly mess up an estimate that badly?) led to our shipment being delayed further on an already lengthy trip. We eventually settled on throwing away several of our belongings and paid an additional few hundred dollars. Our stuff arrived two months after we did in poor condition. There were boxes that contained no liquids but were covered in greasy stains and puncture marks. Several pieces of furniture, which Sea & Air packed for us, were crushed or had holes punched into them. Don't bother using this company, they don't seem to value their customers or their belongings. Pick from any of the other hundred international moving companies in New York, I certainly wish I had.
