I want to love this place. From what I could tell from the exterior I WOULD love this place. In fact that is the only reason for the second star... the Mansion itself is beautiful. Unfortunately things did not get started on the right foot. I scheduled an appointment a week ago to tour the venue and blocked out time during my work day for the tour. I was excited, as any bride should be while planning her wedding and I was left disappointed and frustrated. I showed up to Longview Mansion 10 minutes early to find it... empty? I waited until my scheduled tour time of 1pm to try the door but it was locked and no one came when I knocked. Still not a big deal, things happen and people run late. At 5 after 1pm I called the mansion, got the voicemail, emailed the coordinator etc and received... nothing. After 20 minutes of waiting and no call back I left sad that I didn't get the tour I had so anticipated. At 3:15 I finally got an email stating "my apologies" and suggesting I walk the grounds if I wanted to see the exterior. At that point I couldn't help but laugh. Is that a joke? Its freezing outside, snowing and 2.5hrs after the scheduled tour time. The coordinator couldn't possibly think I was still just hanging out waiting there right? And I don't live close enough to just jump back in my car and head back, not to mention I only blocked off an hour of my work day. So as I drove away admiring the beauty of the Mansion, I sadly came to the conclusion this wasn't my venue. How could I trust them to handle all the details that go into the wedding day itself when they can't even keep track of tour times. Bummed :(
