I visited yesterday as an out of towner to track down some information from deeds going back to the 1960s, and the people in the office were superbly kind, friendly and helpful. Being ignorant of how things worked, I confessed that I needed help right away and they pointed me to the relevant books. One of the guards at the entrance to the building through was another story, loudly throwing around f-bombs and basically being surly. It made the kindness of the people in the register of deeds office all the more welcome in contrast.
