I booked a table for 6pm and on the booking reservation it said they kindly requested the table back for 7.55pm which was absolutely fine. Around 7.20pm my table of 4 tried to order another round of drinks in when we were told no because they needed the table back even though we still had it booked till 7.55pm. The staff were rude about the situation and were basically forcing us to leave. My first time here and certainly will be the last.
This is my second time at The lane, and on both occasions the service has been shocking. To get a drink you wait Sooooo long. After our meal, our plates sat in front of us for the longest time. So long that I ended up getting up and moving them myself so that we had space on the table. The worst part was that both the bar man and waitress went out for a smoke and walked straight past the messy table. Won't be back in a hurry at all, such a pitty because it is a stunning venue. Props to the chefs, the food was good.
The food was really good, and nicely presented. There were only three tables taken, but it took 15 minutes to get an order in, and another 30 for the food to arrive. Only three stars due to that really long wait for both service and cook time with only three tables in the restaurant taken.
