Hello SK, The Original contract was for 2 movers & a truck for $99 an hour. We charge a $69 base rate to reserve the date , truck , and other expenses for the move . On the morning of the move we informed you of the delay due to the truck issues . Although we try and plan in advanced to avoid these issues, certain things are unfortunately beyond our control . We brought an additional mover with us complimentary ( we did not charge for this ) & upon seeing how filled the truck was , we got you a second truck at no additional charge . Two workers were on site the entire time as per the original agreement. Due to hygienic issues & COVID we do not wrap any mattresses or box spring . We kindly asked ahead of time for these items to be a mattress bag. We do not wrap these items due to sanitation issues . The Boxspring did not have a mattress bag & was transported as is . You were was not present at all while the move was taking place at the drop off location .. the doorman kept us waiting close to an 45 minutes before we were allowed to start unloading . All items we transported was left inside the home with the exception of a direct tv remote and a pull up bar that was left with the doorman . You contacted me a week later speaking about a missing mirror . The mirror we transported was wrapped in a furniture blanket & Saran Wrapped and left inside the new residence. As a small business We work very hard to maintain 5 star service . We are not a custom to clients renegotiating pricing at the end of a move or reaching over a week later for further compensation . We feel held our end of the bargain & included an extra truck and an extra worker to compensate for morning delay , & even provided an additional discount at the end of the move . We can understand how this delay in the beginning was inconvenient, but we strive our best to provide the best service for our customers . We are still present on thumbtack with 48 5-star reviews .

Mod Design Movers: I paid initial amount of $69 to reserve and scheduled the move on weekday 9:00 am with 2 professional for local move ( with15 miles away and old place is pretty close to Mod Design Movers ) Isaac had asked to pack my mattresses ( 1 king and 1 twin) and keep other stuffs also packed except heavy items like sofa, box frame, headboards ( that they will wrap with cling ).We did pack every thing except few heavy items. So literally they didnt have to even tape any thing, all they had to do is wrap few heavy items with cling/ blanket and load & unload ( there was nothing to dismantle and fit back in ) Source Location: 1 stair up no elevator. Destination Location: Ground floor with very easy access to and nearby service area and elevator. Review : Isaac claimed 5 and half hrs of work. In morning they showed up 2 hrs 45 mins late citing some technical issue in truck ... After the completion of the work,we later discovered once we reached the destination apartment that one item was missing, new king frame cover was teared due to rash dragging they didnt even wrap it, one twin bed has cracks and almost broken( though this bed was not very stable earlier ) ,I asked them to send pic after the job is completed, none was sent. When I talked to him after the job, good thing is he considered it a 4 hr job and $25 was discounted( appreciate for that ) But, I was not informed about the missing item( one mirror) and the tear of items until I came to new apartment ( he never thought that this should be informed to client :) ) Overall with the service Isaac provided with the team, I got upset with this move( they should at least have informed me about the damages ) Here is the story .... They showed up late by 2 hr 45 mins with a small truck, reached at 11:45 am, Isaac also came with other 2 loaders.( Though Isaac left to bring the second truck in between ) Loading was fast by other 2 loaders( one floor up no elevator) Loading: 11:45 to 1:00 pm ( completed all loading ...waiting for 2nd truck) = 1 hr 15 mins. Everyone waited almost an hr for the truck, items were put outside ready to be loaded on second truck Travel : 2:15 left to 2:45 = 30 mins ( they also waited for 30 mins at destination building for access to gate but doorman after I called claims they got access to it) Unloading( In my absence) :3:15 (call received from Isaac at same time doorman confirmed access to movers )to 5:00 pm( call recd from Issac at 5:10) = 1hr 45 mins Total: 3 hrs 30 mins But Isaac called and claimed for 11:45 pm to 5:15 pm ( 5 hrs and 30 mins...so basically 1 hr to load and 4 and half hrs to travels and unload :) ) When he called me up I explained the right numbers of hrs, he started nagging that they dont negotiate after job is done.. I mentioned that this is not negotiation but rectification of number of hrs you actually worked lagging and stretching only unloading of items for over 4 hrs. He finally agreed to make it 4 hrs and on my request he considered $25 discount. But he never mentioned of the missing item ( one mirror ) and teared out new white king size bed frame( in pics) The other 2 loaders were good at job and I loved to tipped them well. I paid the total amount instantly to Isaac over square cash app. FYI I hired them from Thumbtack and now their presence their is unknown in Thumbtack !! #Thumbtack

I wish I could give zero stars. I booked Mod over a month before our scheduled move date. I called them repeatedly (their voicemail was full), emailed them, had UHaul send them emails and I never heard a word from them: Yesterday I decided to cancel our move with them, one day before our scheduled move, and was lucky enough to find a legitimate moving company. Buyer beware, dont use these guys.

I used this amazing company to help me move my belongings into a ubox for a move from NJ to Florida and they were absolutely amazing. Very efficient and managed to load everything I needed perfectly in there! It was such a relief not having to lift a finger after boxing everything up.
