I was trying to help you put a newer clamp-on boom on an old mast that you bought on Craigslist. We rigged it correctly tightened it a bit and I said that it should work. The connection was solid. My only suggestion was that maybe the mast was too big for the boom. There was space for the rubber shims to connect to the mast and that the shim you had was not going to help your problem. Sorry you feel let down but to me it seemed like you needed to try it again.

As a beginning windsurfer, I came to GP to get some technical help with my boom & mast. I got assistance from an older gent (I believe the owner) who checked out my setup and told me everything seemed ok. I explained the issue to him once more, and said that Im *definitely* going to have problems once I get on the water, but all he could say after fiddling with my setup was, It looks good. Really? No empathy, not one suggestion for a creative solution, not even an attempt to sell me some new equipment. I begged to differ and said, Thanks anyways, then walked away frustrated (in retrospect, Thanks for nothing would have been more appropriate.) As the owner of a bike shop, I have spent way more time troubleshooting much simpler issues with my customers, and I really believe that good advice is worth its weight in gold. Well, today at GP I got no advice whatsoever. Its sad that this is the only shop that still deals with windsurfing in Portland, but I definitely will NOT be coming back, instead Ill have to make a trip to Hood River.
Dusty, I'm sorry your phone call fell short of expectation. Super73 lead times have been completely unreliable and therefore we're hesitant to give out eta's. We offered to call you when the product is back in stock and you declined. We have a demo bike here if you'd like to check it out in person. And if you'd like to be on the call list after all, please let us know.

I called gorge performance because I was interested in a product that they were a dealer for. It was a short call; no information about the product, lead time. I thanked the customer service representative and was hung up on. Sad.
Awesome people - Kim and staff are super friendly, great customer service, and always willing to take time to work through options with you. And have worked with me to keep me on or in the water during the shutdown.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know how we did. Our staff loves to share the stoke. (We were all newbies once - right?) We look forward to seeing you in the shop again soon.

First off, I would like to commend the staff; they were incredibly nice and knowledgeable (I'm new to surfing) and helped a ton. There was no pressure to buy anything, they were happy just helping a newbie out. Secondly; The shop is ridiculously stacked with all kinds of board sports, it was incredibly diverse and they had everything anyone could need. They had stock on everything, used boards, new, all lengths and sizes - and that's only just for the surfboards. I will absolutely be coming back again and again, I recommend anyone to visit.
Hi John, The listed number should be (503) 246 - 6646. Do you see something different? Please try us again. Thanks, Gorge Crew
