Pros: had the car i was looking for, quick responses from the owner, very easy purchasing experience, and were willing to meet on weekends when it was more convenient for me Cons: Took a lot of work just to get an answer from one of Sal's staff until eventually I decided to contact Sal directly I recently bought a used car from here after searching for a specific one for a while. The reviews seemed very positive, and I inquired on whether the car was available. Sal got back to me very quickly saying it was, and answered some questions I had. I sent over an offer via email and Sal countered with the full price, but would complete a timing belt service as it didnt seem like one had been done based on the car history. I made it clear originally that Id like some paperwork, photos, etc, just something to confirm it had been done, for my own records. Sal eventually said he would get some pictures sent over to me. We agreed I would have to provide a down payment first before the work was started. That weekend, I came down to Long Island from Massachusetts to give it a test drive and give a down payment. Walter, the gentleman that met me there didnt pressure me and let me do what I needed to do to come to my own decision and ultimately I decided to move forward with buying the car. I placed a down payment, Walter said the work would be done, and later in the month i would come pick it up as I was out of town on a business trip. I mailed out the check for the rest of the money and the title was mailed to me quickly so I could insure the car and get plates before picking it up. When I came down to pick up the car, we got there right on time and waited a few minutes for Walter to arrive. he brought the car around, but unfortunately this is kind of where things began to take a turn. The sale sticker/paper sheet was still stuck to the window, and even after ripping as much off as I could there was still quite a bit of residue and paper and would have been nice to have that done before i got there; the car wasnt detailed/cleaned up all that well; the gas tank was also empty; not the end of the world, but some things should just be done. Car has been running well so far. The most frustrating part unfortunately, is that it took over a month to receive any sort of documentation saying that the belt service was done after chasing for weeks, requesting multiple times, and after being told I was receiving pictures. I placed the down payment on the 8th of January and the check was cashed on the 24th of January. Id chased Walter multiple times for that documentation and didn't receive it until I had decided to text Sal directly, after which he sent it to me in under 24 hours. Walter said he would do it multiple times. If these things had been resolved quickly, I dont think I would have many complaints, but it seems theres a communication issue between Sal and his employees, as in what he wants them to do and what they actually do; this experience in particular wasn't ideal and I'm still deciding between 3 and 4 stars, but I wouldn't say this experience was flawless
