I purchased a car last April and it took three and a half weeks to take delivery of the car. There was an issue with the car and I was told it would take a week at most, constant back and forth trips to the dealership and LIES. After having the car for two weeks the check engine light went on and it took them over a week to fix it after I was told it would be a day or two at most, but it took them two weeks after I brought it to their attention to fix it because we dont have an available rental car youre a car dealership, and I saw multiple vehicles on their lot. And, after all that fuss, the car only lasted me 8 months before I had to get rid of it (thats including the two months of time where the vehicle was inoperable or not in my possession) THEY SOLD ME A LEMON. If honesty and integrity is written on the inside of their office, shouldnt they follow that policy? Without my knowledge, I bought a car with 85k miles with the original suspension, that was 13 years old. If you preach honesty and integrity, shouldnt I have been at least told? Three months into owning the car, (but only able to drive it for about 1200 miles) I had to have it towed to a mechanic to replace a $700 drive shaft. Constant lies from my salesperson and the owner. Would NOT recommend to my worst enemy.

I purchased a 2001 Mustang Cobra from NEAS approximately two weeks ago. I drove over two hours from NY to check out and ultimately purchase this car as it was a rare find, with low miles. The car purchasing experience itself was smooth and easy - I asked for their best price, Josh gave it to me, and I purchased the car without having to haggle. I paid in cash promptly. The first issue, which I do not put full blame on NEAS, was trying to register my car in NY. My bill of sale from NEAS was not valid in NY. To me, this was not at the fault of NEAS, because I figured as a small dealer from CT they were not used to how paperwork had to be presented for NY sales. However, I had asked if paperwork could be expedited and sent via overnight to me, as I had already lost half a day of work to try and register my car with the DMV. Josh agreed on the phone, and said he would tell "them" (whoever was mailing out my forms?) to send it via overnight. I asked for tracking via email, and got no reply. I followed up the day after for tracking, again with no response. Two days later it arrived via standard snail mail. However it arrived at my address at college, and not "at home" (which was correct), but I only provided this address via email so I know that they were reading my emails. This was small, but having asked for it to be overnighted, I expected overnight. Between work and grad school my time is extremely taken up so being able to track and plan things like this are important to me. The end of the world? Absolutely not. However it was slightly disappointing. What occurred next is my main issue. This Cobra had a "check fuel cap" light on, which I was told would be fixed before pickup. Upon picking up the car, the fuel cap light was in fact off. But it would soon come on after I was able to register the car and actually start driving it. The true reason that the "check fuel cap" light came on, was not a faulty fuel cap which they replaced, but the gasket that seals the fuel filler neck to the fuel tank has degraded and fallen apart, and the filler neck itself had rusted and subsequently cracked. I discovered this because when I went to fill the car up with gas, it began to spill gas all under the car. Luckily I was attentive and caught it before too much spilt all over the ground. A quick google search of "01 cobra check fuel cap" diagnosed the CORRECT issue instantly. How could NEAS not have known? This also means that the car cannot pass a NY inspection, aside from being a safety issue in it of itself. I swiftly bought the parts needed to correct this issue on my own, but contacted NEAS via the same email chain I had bought the car in (that they previously responded to, during the purchasing process but stopped once I needed my tracking on the paperwork). I had told them about the issue, notified them I had already bought the needed parts to fix the issue, and linked them to a step by step guide on the labor that needed to be done to correct the issue. I inquired whether or not my 30 day warranty would cover at least the labor on fixing this issue (since it is a safety issue, plus I can't pass emissions with the light coming on) to no reply. I thought it would be more than reasonable especially considering I only needed the labor as I had already covered the parts needed. Even if this would not fall under the warranty provided, a simple "no" would have sufficed. Instead due to time constraints, I had this issue fixed independently as I only had a few days to pass an emissions test. To clarify; I am not mad if my warranty wouldn't have covered this issue. Like I said, communication on it not being covered would have been fine with me as I did buy a used car after all and I budgeted for having to fix things out of pocket. Aside from this, the lack of communication with my paperwork correction was also disappointing. To me, an issue regarding spilling fuel when filling up should have been promptly addressed and corrected.
