Hi Veronica! Thank you so much for visiting our store. We are saddened to read the review of your experience. We never want anyone to have less than a stellar experience. Especially coming from a super close knit, small team! We very much remember who you are and the customer experience we gave. We apologize if our deflections of your insistent nature of demanding to know who our suppliers are may have come off a bit standoffish. We do work with regional, small, family owned suppliers but kindly it is proprietary information that we simply don’t have to share. Truthfully the conversation was uncomfortable and we wanted to guide the conversation to other areas. Sometimes the transitional conversation can fall short. But do know that it would never be our intention to make anyone feel like that had less than a million dollars to spend - and we truly mean that! To address your review of the mystery bags, it just seems that mystery may not be for you. You chose a $20 bag and received over $20 in products. The Baguu bag is one of our best sellers and honestly a great product. But it seems that having a bit more control would have met you at your comfort level and may just not be in the cards for you in the future. And that’s totally cool with us! As far as tipping goes, it’s optional. We don’t demand tips. But we do a lot of service based work you probably weren’t aware of (I.e complimentary potting of plants, plant doctor appointments, plant advice etc). We would have gladly shared some of that plant advice about the plant you received in the mystery bag had we’d known you weren’t sure about it’s care. And we would have gladly repotted your plant for free during your time in the shop! Again, it’s completely optional and one we would have never expected from you. We apologize it struck such a nerve and in the future please feel free to bypass. While we value and appreciate every person who walks through our door and choosing to spend money with us, we hope in the future that sharing your experience directly with a team member of our business will be more impactful and help us continue to do better and improve our shop and your experience.

I visited here at the beginning of April 2023 on a Sunday. I loved the vibe of the store as I love plants so much! I had a lot of questions and the woman working seemed annoyed but wasn't exactly rude. I asked about the "local" nature of the plants or where they were from and it seemed to bother her. It could have been my anxiety, but I felt like my questions about cost were taken as though I couldn't afford anything anyway. Who really can these days? It's America and we generally get into debt to have what we want. Anyways, I had quickly realized most things cost a pretty penny, so when I asked what the white gift bags with $10,20, or $50 (think I remember correctly on those increments) I was intrigued. I was told by the woman working that they were "mystery/surprise" grab bags that contained items above the marked value, some even with gift cards! She said each one had a plant inside. They were stapled so you couldn't see inside. I sat down the plant I had picked out for around $18 and decided on a $20 bag. I asked her to pick out a good one from the counter where there were rows of them. When I checked out there was a tip option!!! What for?! No clue because I've worked retail jobs with much more intensive labor and never had an option to be tipped. But when a cashier turns that screen around and its various percentages show up... Hitting the bottom "no tip" feels awkward. So, I tipped the lowest one. Side note: I'm done letting any awkward feelings for a few seconds at the checkout line take to money. These establishments asking consumers to pay employees who make above the $2.13 service industry wage extra is getting out of hand. In this situation, it just added salt to the wound. I immediately opened my bag outside the store and I felt like a kid whose ice cream plopped off their cone upon the first attempt to eat it. Disappointed and bamboozled describe my feelings. There was a $6 baby plant. Seriously, so tiny. A random small pink crystal rock was in the bag without any indication of purpose. And worst of all, what made this such a "special, over value, mystery surprise" was a reusable shopping tote that had an $18 price tag on it. I was so close to walking back in for an attempt at a refund, but I already felt like I'd been annoying the woman and figured it would be pointless as it was a surprise mystery bag anyway. Pictures show the items and the plant once I reported it. There were no instructions on how to plant that, or the other plant I bought. So, if you're new to house plants ask before you leave.

Most plants in the store look pretty healthy and they get a good variety plus some rare ones that are harder to find. But I Definitely wouldn’t do the store pick-up option. Go in and see to pick out the plants yourself. I’ve gotten plants online from 2 separate occasions. First time was OK, it had chalky white stains all over that needed to be removed with a vinegar solution. Second time, when I got home 1/3 of the leaves of a ficus had fallen off in the bag and some stems had no leaves at all and got an overcrowded snake plant that had skinny fallen over/broken leaves. I have a lot of experience with plants so it’s not the end of the world but considering how expensive they can be, it was annoying they were not better quality.

Hi Julie! I just looked through our transactions and have not seen a $1,500 charge from any Julie, not this week or ever, from you or anyone for that matter. After receiving feedback from said employee, it looks like the purchase that was made was a special order for a custom moss wall that would not have qualified for any discount. We are so appreciative of any business we receive! We have sales sporadically and understand that it can feel like you’re slighted when you miss one. Hopefully you’ll catch the next of anyones! But understand, from a small business, we could perpetually give 20% off to every human being that saw any sale ever. Please know that your business is not insignificant to us but know our employees are there to do their job. And our business is there to provide those jobs. And at the end of the day, happiness is supposed to be had. Thank you again, we very much appreciate you.

I spent over $1500 and then saw online they were having 20% off all plants anniversary sale 2 days later I called the Manager of the Lexington store about a price adjustment and was told they were a small business and they dont do that and the owner was on vacation and they dont give out her number. There are other LOCAL businesses that I can shop at in the future
