I am disappointed to see that the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce continues to support businesses which have no regard for Brooklyn. Both Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal and Public Advocate Leticia James have been fighting against AirBnB because they refuse comply with laws. Cars2Go is another company the Brooklyn Chamber has promoted and the company is using Brooklyn streets as a parking lot for their fleet of cars. In October 2015, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce sent a representative to speak against a Coney Island business owner named Carol Murray. Murray's family owned the property in Coney Island for 100 years. The City used the meeting to intimidate the owner into selling her property so they could have a walkway. Whose interest was this not-for-profit speaking for? The Chamber's website for Bay Ridge has not been updated (businesses that have closed or moved remain online).
