Paul is a good customer and I understand his frustration. I've been setting up floating tremolos since the early 80's and it's always a struggle. You will find Eddie Van Halen saying the same thing in many articles. Each guitar is diffent. Even Eddie puts a quarter under his bridge to stop it from floating. Brad Gillis is a master at working and maintaining the floating trem. His units don't even have fine tuners to remove any chance of movement. If Paul's trem was a licensed copy Floyd Rose unit, I'm sorry to say it may never be perfect. I've found that the original Floyd design is the only one that is 100% reliable. If you go the route of a floating trem you need to constantly maintain its balance. A pro setup helps but you should be constantly balancing the spring tension. I understand the customers frustration and I also understand that I will be the punching bag once in a while :-) -Chris DiPinto
